Smooth as pudding, Scorpius smiled and said, "I find both of you ladies to be quite lovely. But alas, I cannot tarry. I must study for my exam without benefit of my notes. Good night, Miss Potter."
By the time he finished speaking, Lily was rolling her eyes, but a reluctant smile had curved her lips. Scorpius made his escape, counting himself fortunate that he hadn't chanced upon both of the ginger blossoms at the same time.
On his way back to the dungeons, Scorpius was brought up short by a cold voice.
"Why are you wandering the corridors, Malfoy?"
