Summary: Flirtatious banter at Dragon Brew.
After assuring Lynsey, more loudly than was necessary, that he and Malfoy were not getting married, Harry took his coffee and lunch to the small table he thought of as his and sat down with a grateful sigh. When he realized the other patrons were staring, he straightened his shoulders and glared around him. That convinced them to suddenly become absorbed in their own business.
When there was a lull in customers, Malfoy came out and set a glass of frothy liquid in front of Harry. "Here, I'd like your opinion on one of the new frozen flavors I intend to offer."
"Frozen coffee, Malfoy?" asked Harry. "Shouldn't it come with a little umbrella, like those girlie cocktails?"
"I wouldn't know, Potter. I don't drink girlie cocktails."
"Touché" muttered Harry, picking up the glass and saluting Malfoy with it. He took a cautious sip. "Mm, that's surprisingly delicious. What flavor is it?"
"It's caramel mocha," Malfoy replied. "I reckoned you'd like that one, as you do seem to prefer sweet things."
"Actually, I prefer things that are snarky," Harry countered with a grin. "I also enjoy things that are...spicy."
Malfoy's lips curled in a slow smirk. "Is that so?" he drawled, warming to the flirtatious game.
"That reminds me," said Harry. He reached into his pocket, withdrew the key to his flat, and handed it to Malfoy. "This is so you can check in on Panini the next time I die."
"Potter, that is completely morbid."
"You make jokes about me dying all the time," Harry pointed out.
"Yes, but it's funny coming from me," said Malfoy. "Coming from you, it's...morbid."
"Fortunately for you, I have no intentions of dying," Harry said. "However, I may need you to stop in and take care of Panini in the event I'm on assignment or otherwise unreachable. You could even bring Bean with you. They may enjoy playing together."
"I think not," huffed Malfoy.
"Sorry?"
"I don't want Bean to adopt any of your kitten's bad habits."
"Do you mean to tell me that Bean hasn't climbed the curtains, jumped on the table, or knocked things off of your counters?"
"Certainly not!"
"Huh," grunted Harry. "I'll trade you."
