hogwarts365 Prompt No. 255 - afternoon
Summary: Potter drops a bombshell.
Potter didn't arrive until afternoon tea time. Personally, Draco thought it was a blatant mooch, but he wasn't about to say so. It was imperative that Potter eat well, now that he was with child. Draco was trying to be more mindful of what he ate, and he expected no less from his fiance.
Tea was served in the pink salon, during which Draco's mum eagerly discussed the wedding plans with Potter, while he offered his own thoughts and opinions. Draco tuned them out, preferring to have as little to do with the plans as possible.
"...don't you agree, Draco?" asked his mother.
Draco blinked and turned his attention to her. "Sorry?"
"Focus, Malfoy," chided Potter. "We need to finalize our wedding plans."
"I'd rather focus on the honeymoon," Draco muttered.
His mother tutted, but Potter's eyes brightened. His obvious interest helped bolster Draco's mood, and when the three of them repaired to the lounge to delve into the minutiae of wedding plans, Draco was able to pay attention and provide input. He basked in his mother's resulting approval, even as he engaged in subtle, non-verbal flirting with Potter each time his mum was distracted.
Draco was hard and aching by the time his mother called a halt to the proceeding.
"That's enough for today," she said. "We seem to have a handle on all but the most trivial items, and I do believe we shall pull this wedding off."
"Thank Merlin," sighed Draco.
"Darling, I didn't realize you were so concerned about the wedding," claimed his mother.
"Ahem, of course I am," Draco said quickly. He thought he heard a scoffing snort from Potter's direction, but Draco ignored it.
Narcissa rose from the table, and Draco and Potter stood as well.
"Will you be staying for dinner, Harry?" she asked.
"I'm afraid not," Potter replied. "I promised Molly that I would have dinner at the Burrow this evening."
"Be sure to give them my regards," Draco said, feeling magnanimous.
"You can do that in person."
Draco blinked again. "Beg pardon?"
"I said, you can give the Weasleys your regards in person," Potter answered. "I already told Molly to expect you for dinner, as well."
