Summary: Harry drafts Draco into delivering cookies and decorating the tree.

When Draco closed his shop early in the afternoon, Harry was waiting for him. He ignored the roll of Draco's eyes and reached for his hand. The tug-o-war didn't last nearly as long today, and Harry was almost disappointed. "Come on," he said. "We have cookies to deliver."

Their first stop was at the orphanage. Harry sneaked them straight into the kitchen to avoid being mobbed by children. He knew that Rosie could create a mob action all by herself, and he wasn't sure Draco was up to multiple mobbings in one day. Next, they paid a visit to Malfoy Manor. Narcissa was surprised to see them together, and even more surprised when Draco presented her with a box of chocolate cookies.

"You baked these yourself?!" she exclaimed.

"It's just like potions, Mum."

"I helped him."

"Why, Draco, I am impressed," said Narcissa.

"I helped."

"You've never taken an interest in baking before."

Draco preened at his mother's praise, and it was Harry's turn to roll his eyes. Finally, Narcissa acknowledged his contribution. "You seem to be a good influence on my son, Mr Potter," she said. "Thank you."

Their next stop was at the Burrow. When they emerged from the Floo, Rose squealed and toddled over. Harry crouched down and beamed at her, and she nearly trampled him on the way by.

"Unca Dwaco!"

"Oy!" cried Harry, feeling ridiculously jealous as Rosie ignored him in favor of Draco.

Molly laughed and tugged Harry into the kitchen, while Draco scooped Rose up and held her. Harry gave his hostess a box of cookies and received a fruitcake in return. "Thank you," he chirped, wishing he'd dropped by here first. He could have foisted the fruitcake off on the orphans.

By the time Harry pried Draco away from Rose, it was getting late.

"Where to next?" asked Draco.

"We're going to decorate the tree," Harry replied.

"My tree has been up and decorated for a week now."

"Splendid," said Harry. "You can come and help me trim my tree."

"You can't just hang ornaments all willy-nilly," Draco admonished.

"Why not?" scoffed Harry. "It's worked for me in the past."

"A well-decorated tree must have balance," Draco insisted. He chose some handmade ornaments, courtesy of various Weasley children, and hung them just so. "There, that's better," he said.

"It doesn't have to be perfect, Draco," said Harry. "I just want it to look nice."

"Need I remind you that you dragged me here to help?"

"Fine," Harry said with a sigh. "You tackle the decorating, and I'll get the gifts to place under the tree."

From there, they worked in comfortable silence. Draco levitated ornaments onto the tree, while Harry placed presents beneath it. He stood up straight, admiring their handiwork. "I reckon it only needs one more thing," said Harry. He withdrew his beautiful Christmas star from its box. "Would you like to do the honors?"

Draco seemed surprised, but he accepted the star with a somber nod. He placed it on top of the tree, and Harry lit it with a wave of his wand.

"Beautiful," Draco murmured.

"I agree," said Harry, and he captured Draco's lips in a warm kiss, full of promise.
