Summary: Every parent wants to witness baby's firsts.
"You can do it, Arwen," Harry encouraged his daughter. "Come on, sweetie, come to daddy."
"Dada," Arwen gurgled, holding out her chubby arms.
Harry resisted the urge to scoop the toddler up. Instead, he gestured with his hands. "Come on, Arwen, you can do it."
Arwen planted her feet apart, swaying as she struggled to balance. She reached towards Harry again and took a single, faltering step. Harry caught his breath, eyes shining with wonder.
"One more, Arwen," Harry breathed.
Arwen took another clumsy step before she overbalanced and fell on her bum. Her lower lip shot out, but she didn't cry. Harry closed the distance between them and picked Arwen up. "You did it!" he cried, tickling Arwen's round tummy. Arwen giggled and squirmed in Harry's arms.
The Floo whooshed, disgorging Draco. He stepped into the living room and smiled at his family.
"Dada!" Arwen chirped, holding her arms out to Draco.
Draco laughed and plucked his daughter from Harry. "How's my girl?" he asked, giving Arwen another tickle. Draco looked at Harry. "Did I miss anything?"
Harry opened his mouth, excited to tell Draco of Arwen's accomplishment, but something held him back. "You're just in time," said Harry. "I think Arwen is on the verge of taking her first steps."
