Summary: Draco and Harry question Carina, and good news is delivered via owl.
Harry leaned over the crib and plucked his fussing son out of solitary confinement. "There, there," he soothed, patting Evan's back. Harry wrinkled his nose. No wonder Evan was upset. Harry stepped into the bedroom. "Draco, would you be a love and change Evan's nappy?"
"Not even if you paid me," Draco declared. "You found the mess; you get to deal with it."
"Plonker," grumbled Harry. He returned to the nursery and steeled himself for the task ahead.

Harry carried a freshly-changed but still fussy Evan downstairs.
"I'll feed him," Draco offered.
"Sure, you take the easy chore," sighed Harry, handing the baby over.
Carina helped by fetching a bib for Draco before she resumed her seat at the kitchen table and nibbled on her toast.
Harry's heart swelled with love for his daughter. He was so thankful for Carina. Had it not been for her unexpected burst of magic the previous night, poor little Evan would have been hit in the head by a block thrown by one of his half-brothers. Harry glanced up to see Draco looking at him with a raised brow. He gave a slight nod. They needed to address Carina's magical ability.
"Carina?"
"Yes, Daddy?"
"I am proud of you for making sure that block didn't hit Evan in the head last night," Harry said, opening the dialogue.
Carina's eyes grew round. "That was naughty of Ricky," she said.
"Yes, it was," said Harry. "However, Patrick is too young to know better. That's why it was so wonderful of you to stop the block from hitting Evan."
Carina simply smiled, pleased at the praise.
Draco cleared his throat. "How did you do that, sweetie?"
"I don't know," Carina replied with an unconcerned shrug. "I see you and Daddy do stuff like that, and I didn't want Evan to get hurt."
Harry looked to Draco once more. Draco thinned his lips and gave a single shake of his head. Harry reckoned that meant they would be discussing the situation later.
"Honey," said Harry, addressing his daughter, "why don't you run upstairs and feed Penelope?"
"Okay, Daddy," chirped Carina. She finished her pumpkin juice and skipped off to take care of her puffskein.
Harry turned to Draco. "What shall we do?"
Draco hoisted Evan over one shoulder and began to pat his back. "Let's see if Daniel can work with Carina to determine whether or not her magic is truly manifesting, or if that was simply an isolated incident."
Harry felt some of the tension ease from his neck and shoulders. "Yeah," he agreed. "That's brilliant. Surely, Daniel has learned to gauge the magical abilities of the children he tutors."
"First, we must wrest young Mr Waldorf away from the wedding plans," said Draco. "If I know my wife, er, ex-wife," he amended quickly, "Astoria will be insisting that Daniel be involved in each aspect of their plans."
"Are you suggesting he may be glad of a break?" Harry asked with a soft chuckle.
"Let's just say I was content to allow Caroline and Daphne to assist Astoria when our wedding was being planned," Draco replied.
"And here I thought you spent so much time with me, because you couldn't bear to be away from me," sighed Harry.
"Yes, that too," Draco agreed with a grin.
Harry was distracted by an owl at the kitchen window. He stood up and crossed the room, opening the window to admit the owl. It extended its leg, and Harry took the message and offered the owl a treat. It accepted the treat, gave a soft hoot, and flew away. Harry brought the scroll to the table before he unrolled it and read the message. Harry looked up at Draco and smiled.
"What is it?" asked Draco, shifting Evan to his lap.
"It's a note from Elma Eichberger," said Harry. "She's offering her support to further the cause of same-sex unions."
"Do you know what this means, Harry?"
"Yeah," nodded Harry. "It means if we push for a vote, we should now have the majority we need to officially approve same-sex marriage among witches and wizards."
