The first full weekend in September brings a new monthly drabble challenge!
This month, the prompt is "I'll buy you a new one.". You may use it any way you wish: quote, phrase, or simply convey the meaning. Feel free to write/draw any fandom, pairing, threesome, gen fic, original fic, or what have you. Combine it with other prompts, if you like. Please post your entry in own journal (unlocked!) or a community of your choice, and leave me a link in the comments below. You have until Monday, September 30, at 10:00pm CST to submit an entry. At that time, I'll post links to the entries and draw a name from among the participants to receive a drabble from me. Below is my entry for the month:

Summary: Rufus has a new chew toy.
"What's Ron's wand doing in your mouth?!" hissed Harry.
Rufus rolled his eyes to look up at Harry and continued gnawing on the wand in question. His stump of a tail wagged happily.
"Give me that!" Harry ordered, bending to snatch the wand from his Boston terrier.
Rufus growled and tossed his head, jerking the wand out of Harry's reach.
"Rufus!" Harry scolded. "Drop that this instant!" He reached for the wand again, only to have Rufus bound to his feet and scamper away. "Argh!"
Harry glanced out of the window, relaxing minutely when he saw that Draco was keeping Ron and Hermione occupied in the garden. Harry had been sent inside to get drinks and nibbles. Instead, he found his dog using his friend's wand as a chew toy. Ron would kill him if his wand was damaged.
"Rufus, get back here!" Harry whispered harshly, chasing after the little monster. Rufus, of course, thought it was all a grand game. He tucked his rump and darted underneath the kitchen table. Harry got down on all fours to drag Rufus out of hiding.
Rufus dropped the wand with a clatter and barked at Harry. "Roof roof!"
Harry ignored the ruckus in favor of making a grab for Ron's wand. Rufus snatched it up at the same time, and a tug-of-war ensued. Rufus growled in a manner most ferocious and shook his head. Harry's precarious grasp on the slobber-coated wand slipped, and he fell back on his arse on the kitchen floor.
"Damn it, Rufus!" Harry bellowed. He shouldered a chair out of the way and waded back into battle. Rufus tried to bolt, but Harry got both hands around the dog's middle and yanked him back. He plunked Rufus in his lap and began trying to pry the wand out of his mouth. Rufus growled with mock ferocity and shook his head side to side again.
"Let. Go."
Rufus squirmed off of Harry's lap and planted all four paws as he held on to his end of the wand.
Harry didn't realize the melee had drawn an audience until he heard the door to the garden open, followed by Draco's voice.
"Harry, is there-" Draco paused, eyes taking in the scene before him. "A problem?" he finished.
Ron barged into the kitchen behind Draco. He, too, took in the situation at a glance. "My wand!" he cried.
Harry gave a hard, desperate tug and succeeded in gaining control of the wand. He tumbled over and landed on his back, looking up at his husband and his friend. Harry sat up and straightened his glasses. He looked at Ron's wand and winced. It was liberally coated with drool, and it had obvious teeth marks up and down its length. Harry glanced back at Draco's sardonic grin and realized he'd get no help there. His eyes moved to Ron, and Harry winced at the thunderous expression on his mate's face.
"I'm sorry, Ron," sighed Harry. "I'll buy you a new one."
