Summary:
"Draco has been hinting at marriage."
Hermione looked up, pinning Harry with her level gaze. "Do you want to get married?" she asked. "The two of you have been together almost a year now, so it seems like the logical next step."
"I just...I don't know if I'm ready," said Harry, plucking nervously at his shirt sleeve. "Logically we shouldn't be together at all," he added. "There are a thousand reasons why it won't work."
"You're over thinking it," Hermione said. "Tune out the doubts in your mind, and listen with your heart."
Harry closed his eyes and placed his hands over his heart. His lips twitched as he fought not to grin.
Hermione giggled at him. "What do you hear?" she asked.
"Silly love songs," said Harry. He laughed when Hermione poked his shoulder.
"You could do worse for a life partner than someone who makes you think of silly love songs," Hermione told him. "If Malfoy is the one who makes you happy, then stop worrying about all the rest of it."
Harry considered what his friend was saying. He and Draco had their share of arguments, which were normally sorted out through rambunctious sex. It was true that neither of them would ever hold much fondness for the other's family and friends, but it was also true that Harry had never enjoyed life as much as he did with Draco. He smiled softly.
"What are you thinking?" asked Hermione.
"I'm thinking that Draco is a keeper," Harry said. "I'm going to propose to him on Valentine's Day."
