Summary: When Draco and Harry are both unhappy after a break-up, the twins concoct an intervention.

Draco was strolling along Diagon Alley, minding his own business, when he was suddenly seized by arm and shirt collar and muscled through an open doorway.

"What is the meaning of this?!" he sputtered. As his eyes adjusted to the gloom, Draco recognized his abductors. "Weasley and Weasley," he muttered, giving the twins a stiff nod.

"Malfoy," said one.
"We'd like to have a word with you," finished the other.

Draco crossed his arms and glared. "You could have sent me an owl," he said.

"This is too important," said the twin on Draco's left. George, judging by the way his hair covered his ears.

"It's about Harry," added Fred.

Draco's stomach fluttered at the mention of Harry's name, and he scowled. "Harry and I are no longer together," he said. "Kindly bugger off." Draco made to move past them, but the twins blocked his path.

"That's why-"
"...we need to talk to you."

They spoke almost in unison, making Draco's head ache. "If Harry sent you here to rough me up, kindly tell him to bugger off," snarled Draco.

"No one has seen him in days," said Fred.
"We suspect he's having a wallow," said George.

The thought of Harry wallowing in misery made Draco fiercely glad, yet worried at the same time. "He broke up with me," Draco said, the words nearly sticking in his throat. The pain of being asked to leave the home he shared with Harry had cut Draco deeply. He wondered if he'd ever recover. "If Harry is unhappy, he brought it on himself," Draco declared.

"It's not our fault-"
"...he's an idiot," the twins declared.

"However, he is our friend-"
"...and we care about his welfare."

"His welfare is no longer my concern," Draco said. "Good day." He attempted once more to budge past the twins, but they stood fast.

"Malfoy," George began, his voice sounding soft and sincere. "Harry thought he was doing the right thing by breaking up with you, but it's made him miserable."

"Go to him," Fred said in the same manner. "Let him know that you don't care what your families or friends think."

Draco chewed on his lower lip. It was true that the majority of rows he'd had with Harry were over friends and family. Draco remembered that the day before Harry had thrown him over was the day his father had sent him a howler. It would be just like Harry to sacrifice his own happiness if he thought it was in Draco's best interest.

Draco looked at the twins' hopeful faces and sighed. "I'll see what I can do."

Draco exited the Floo in Harry's parlor, grateful it wasn't closed to him. He marched into the living room, expecting to find Harry slumped on the sofa, surrounded by a dozen half empty bags of crisps. The room was empty. Draco frowned and looked up the stairs. Perhaps Harry was wallowing in bed. Quietly, he ascended the staircase and walked down the hall to the master bedroom. Draco paused with his hand on the door knob as his own feelings of hurt and anger threatened to overwhelm him. This used to be his bedroom, too.

Draco took a shaky breath and opened the door. The bed was empty.

Fear caused Draco's mouth to go dry. Harry wouldn't have done anything...drastic. He was sure of it. Heart pounding, Draco turned around, wondering where Harry could be. The twins claimed he hadn't left his house in days. Draco strode to the guest room, determined to search each room if need be. He wrenched open the door and pulled up short. There was a Harry-shaped mound under the blankets and a hint of messy black hair peeping out near the pillows.

Draco moved silently forward and tugged the covers down gently. Harry was asleep. He looked exhausted. He was wan, and there were dark circles under his eyes. Draco knew his own appearance wasn't much better. He toed off his shoes and slid under the blankets. Harry immediately curved into Draco, sighing in his sleep as he snuffled against Draco's neck.

Draco hadn't meant to doze off. He must have needed the sleep as well. Draco was awakened when warm lips nibbled along his neck. He smiled and made a contented sound in his throat. The lips halted their enticing activity.

"Draco?"

His name was mumbled against his skin, and Draco smiled. "Harry?"

Harry scooted back and tried to focus. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I could ask you the same thing," said Draco. "Why are you in the guest bedroom?"

"I...I couldn't sleep in our bed," Harry admitted gruffly.

Draco's heart melted. "Is it still our bed?"

Harry scrubbed a hand over his rough jaw. "I never should have driven you away," he said. "I was a fool."

"Yes, you were," said Draco, the hurt still lingering. He concentrated on banishing it. "But, so was I," he added. "I was a fool for leaving."

"Do you reckon two fools like us deserve one another?" Harry asked. He looked and sounded so hopeful that the last of Draco's resentment fell away.

Draco wrapped his arms around Harry and tugged him close. "Yes, Harry," he said. "The two of us definitely deserve one another."
