Summary: Malfoy gets under Harry's skin.
Malfoy cornered him on the lift that led from the luxury suites to ground level, and Harry swore silently to himself. He'd been trying to avoid Malfoy because he did not want to field any more questions.
"It's been quite a dismal season for your team, Potter," smirked Malfoy as he pulled out his Quick Quotes Quill. "Is there any chance that you'll replace Ferragamo as the Cannons' Seeker?" Malfoy worked for the Daily Prophet and covered the professional Quidditch season for the paper.
Harry glared at the smug git. "No, Malfoy," he bit out. "I may own the team, but I have no interest in playing for the Cannons. I have faith that we can still turn this season around."
"What about all of the Chudley fans who are clamoring for you to don the kit and save the Cannons' season?"
"I'm afraid it's not going to happen."
"Ah, so you're afraid to return to professional play," Malfoy needled. His quill scribbled at a furious pace on the notepad that floated near his shoulder.
"That's not what I said," Harry growled.
"Note to self," Malfoy mused, "headline should read 'Potter Too Petrified To Play'."
"I didn't say that, you tosser!"
"'Cannons' Owner Loses Cool While Team Loses Matches'."
Harry's temper got the better of him, and he shut Malfoy up in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
When the lift reached ground level and the doors swished open, Harry straightened the lapels of his suit jacket and stepped off. Malfoy tottered out after him, smoothing his tie with one hand and his hair with the other. Both of them sported swollen lips and groins.
Malfoy cleared his throat. "So, I'll see you at the next Cannons' match, Potter?"
