Title: Pursuit of Dreams

Author's note: Written for katelinmr, in thanks for the donation to the Haiti relief effort, with the prompt of something sweet and silly. It's sweet, at least. This is from the same verse as Ambush.
Summary: It's nap time.
Late morning sunshine streamed through the window and warmed a large square on the floor. Lying within the sunny spot was a small, brown and white spotted fox terrier. He was stretched out on his side asleep, and his paws twitched in pursuit of his dreams.
Tucked beneath the dog's chin and draped over his neck was a white ferret. An occasional quiver of his nose and whiskers told of his own dreams. A small whimper from the terrier roused the ferret. He lifted his head and yawned. The dog whined in his sleep again, and the ferret nuzzled and licked his companion's ear. The dog's tail thumped the floor twice, and he stretched before settling down once more.
The pair slumbered on, oblivious to the sun's journey across the floor.
