Things have been so great lately! I went to an orchard and picked peaches and plums and apples yesterday! From the tree!
I'm taking a class all about the Caribbean, Rastafarians, Bob Marley, Marcus Garvey, and revolution! holy cow! I never understood the Bob Marley - I just thought it was stoner music with a message that everyone was missing. And now! Now I understand the message and I'm kind of in love with him! Not with the ganja but with the message.
Did you know that Rastafarian women sit separately then men? Especially when mensturating? And they aren't allowed to wear perfume or makeup? I was surprised by this as I'd always thought that the whole Rasta thing was all about equality for everyone.
Music of the Caribbean was such and inspiration to their people. It's crazy! There isn't anything else in the world like it! It covers the whole African diaspora which makes it worldy relatable, but is totally particular to Jamaica at the same time. I love it!
