If you've traveled to Florida for Disney World/Universal Studios (or live there), I need your help!

We're planning on going (5 of us) in October but rates/packages are CRAZY expensive. I wanna know if you have any tips at all or anything as we're planning this trip?

Why are they driving me insane?

Learn all about the Fastpass system, to maximize your time in the parks and make sure you get your money's worth. Make sure your tickets are good for 'park hopping'. It used to be that the more days your tickets were good for, the cheaper per day, and there aren't that many ways to get deals on tickets, sadly. the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT have some great rides (tho most are at TMK) but I will tell you that I think Animal Kingdom is a huge bore, both for adults and kids, so when you're budgeting your time, keep that in mind.

Buy snacks and water at a grocery store to take into the parks with you for noshing and lunch - granola, fruit, juice boxes, whatever will travel well - and you will save yourself a gazillion dollars each day.

Wear comfortable shoes, since you will be walking several miles a day, no way around it.

If you want to save money, don't stay at a Disney resort hotel unless you can get a deal. However, they cannot be beat for convenience, and that matters a hell of a lot at the end of a long day, or for a quick start in the morning. So it's a trade-off.

There are numerous sites with great tips for travelers. Allears.net, wdwinfo.com, DISboards.com, miceage.com, and several others you can google have forums where you can ask specific questions. Those sites also will tell you about current deals in the parks.

Parades and other shows are usually overrated and require lining up a long time in advance to get anything approximating a good view. YMMV. I would not waste time on them unless you have big love for the content featured in a show.

That's all I have at this moment. *g*

Okay cool. We were thinking Disney for a day because bro isn't too keen on going, so maybe JUST Magic Kingdom.

Yeah we're definitely going to keep that in mind!

At least it's good exercise? haha

*sighs* Why is money such an issue? But yeah, we were thinking somewhere nearby, depending on how expensive and stuff.

Yay, thanks Des!
