What award did these photos win?
4th place in IHSA Journalism sectionals which means I get to go to IHSA Journalism state! (Yay for Journalism being a sport!)
New Trier came in third overall. The school who came in first was really into it. They had T-shirts and everything.
The whole day I spent downtown was kind of odd. My "event" was 3 1/2 hours long and we had to take five pictures that represented springtime.
I was walking around Millennium park and the Art Institute for about 2 hours. I got really bored.
I finished early and went to McDonald's for lunch. Then Mr. Lucadamo called my cell phone to tell me to get back to the Journalism place. (He called my house to get my cell number.)
We went to the awards ceremony and sat and waited and sat and waited. They finally started and hour and a half late.
Also, only one of the judges scored my pictures because the other one "couldn't find my pictures" (???)
And one of the things they score you on is "evidence of advanced editing techniques (masks, layers, cloning, etc.)" Why do they want pictures to look photoshoped?
I'm headed off to Berkeley tomorrow. If anyone doesn't know already, that's where I'm going next year (with Sarah!).
