'Innit' makes Scrabble wordlist или Как современный жаргон уничтожает английский язык

Мнения англичан по поводу жаргона, уничтожающего язык.

-That's cool innit! Yeah! - George Orwell would be.. pale. This sounds of the first quarter of 1984'

- I`d have thought it was about time that we should be teaching our children to speak and spell properly. By putting such rubbish as "innit" on scrabble is rather stupid. Not only that, if anyone of the "older" generation is playing they`d not win...don`t know half the words! :-( Job interview....Oh I got da job...gonna work `ere...brill innit? Cool man. YUK.

- I agree 'innit' is most definitely not a word and should not be used in a word game

- "Innit" is not a word, period! Why has Scrabble lowered it's standards to trendy, slang terms used by kiddies trying to be cool? If it's not recognised in the dictionary, it's not really a word. Scrabble is a game that actually broadens the use of words and educates people, I thought? Why not continue to use it to educate, instead of pander to its uneducated?
    • - All symptomatic of the declining standards we English have to endure, including the calibre of people whom do not correctly speak our language -
Ayer mate, aye thrs nowt so queer as folk! (To use our local dialect and brogue!)
    • im a teen
and if you check the guardian website innit is now in the dictionary and so is omg
    • Just because it is in the dictionary doesn't mean it's right

- "Sir, Scrabble sales have plumeted over the last 12 months." "Add a slang word for publicity and contact Yahoo! News, they run with anything."

- and i thought scrabble was to help people learn to spell, not pander to the thick tw@ts that only write in text and talk in slang

- It just goes to show that educational games, such as Scrabble are no longer trendy in this day and age - I love Scrabble. This move is dumbing down the younger generation. If you announced this in April I would have thought it was an April Fools joke, alas its May and I am quietly disheartened.

- the english language is being destroyed by illiterate people who can't be bothered to talk correctly
we should be proud of our English Country and language, not the eurotrash dumping ground we are becoming

- Ah the good old English language, bastardised by immigrants. Let's get back to proper 'English' not this gobbledygook and jargon

- English has been an expanding language for about 900 years, I see no reason for it to stop doing so now.

I am aware that the older I get, there is a growing vocabulary out there that can make me feel a little more isolated... but in truth, it is not that difficult to 'catch up'.

As a point of interest... if the cockney pronunciation of 'innit' is to be accepted, can the Hampshire/Dorset/West Country pronunciation of 'ennit' also be accepted?

- My son suffers from dyslexia..............that sort of rubbish is NOT going to help is it? Even newsreaders language has deteriorated. Quote "They have chucked him out" Ummmm. Is it any wonder a lot of the younger generation can`t fill in a job application form properly? My daughter`s place of work received application forms...with a smiley face added here and there!! Excuse me, and the person was applying for a job in a solicitors` office!!!!
