Update update update...tired tired tired
I am ready for spring break. I plan to go to College Station to visit Ben. I've been very tired lately trying to make sure everything is in order. I have my Pedagogy test this coming Saturday. My students have TAKS on March 5. I'm busting my bum making powerpoint presentations that go along with my lectures on Shakespeare. We have a new principal, and I try my best to fly under her radar. I'm trying to keep attention away from myself because she has an awful lot of power right now. A lot of our students (mainly juniors) are failing multiple subjects and we don't know why. She has been calling teachers for meetings who have students failing. Luckily, I don't have many students failing, and those who are it's just because they don't want to do any work at all. So she hasn't called me in for a meeting. However, this is a very critical point in the year because of TAKS scores and evaluations. I really like my job, and I very much would like to keep it.
Valentine's Day was very nice. Jason tricked me into thinking we were going to a restaurant but he had made dinner himself. It was very sweet and pleasant.
I had a training all day yesterday. Bleck. I do have to begrudgingly admit that the information was helpful. I met some teachers who work at a school that is being reconstituted, and 45 teachers were let go with only a warning of three days. I am very, very thankful to work where I do.
