Friends new and old
I set up the new journal here because I felt that my real life friends were falling by the wayside. They had to trudge through my fic and memes and con reports and I wasn't telling what was going on with me outside of fandom.
What I'm finding amusing is that I have roughly 35 'friends' here out of that are 8 who are actual real life friends that I didn't meet online. Two are from meeting on LJ before my fandom obsession and the rest are all of you whom I've met (some in person) through TW/DW.
I'm kind of chuffed that you want to know more about me, not just as a writer. I used to think that 'online friendships' were kind of silly. That so many people can lie about themselves and lure you into some stupid situations. I'm cynical, what can I say. Guess you can chalk that up to the con-artist of a mother and narcistic cheating ex-husband. You'll probably be hearing about them in the future, because in the past six months or so I've become very introspective. I want to know why I am who I am and what experiences have colored that.
If you read my post at emyrldlady about my ideas and how I don't want to excuse myself for being myself this is where it begins.
So to all of you who have reached out to me to 'friend' me. Thank you, everhone needs a bit of self-validation. This journal is mine.
