ok ladies and gentlemen...boys and girls...here we go
when? july 28, 29, and 30
where? RoughRiver Kentucky or Gatlinburg Tennessee
what? Camping...serious camping...backpacking in and taking a network of about 20 miles of trail. we can get together on who will take what, but everyone will need a framed backpack capable of taking all your own food and clothing. the people with the nice gear or that can borrow the nice gear will take the tents and cookware...this trip will take us about two days. if we go Gatlinburg i know relatively all the trails and can give us a great idea of where to go in order to be jumping off waterfalls and seeing huge mountain views.
if you guys are interested tell me and i can figure out how much it will cost us. we will need a backcountry permit and food. the permits run about 5 bucks per carload and the food will be energy rich stuff that you add water too along with the usual backpacker favorites. if we can get enough people to do this we can take down two cars which would have the total cost including food, permits, and gas being around 50 bucks for each person...
i need to know quickly if you guys are interested so we can get it cemented and people can take off work. cat has expressed interest. i (and likely julie) would be going. i know misti had wanted to go to the mountains...what i'm getting at here is that this is something that everyone has mentioned, but this is go-time...we aren't getting any younger so if you're game tell me..
