It was finally Saturday morning, Jenny jumped out of bed excited for the assignment date she had with Emma. She knew it wasn’t a date but that didn’t stop her from calling it one. The brunette didn’t sleep a wink that night as a mixture of emotions flooded her; she was nervous, excited, happy and anxious.

She looked to the clock, noticing it was only 6:30 am and that the sun was only beginning to rise in the gorgeous blue sky. ‘Err… it feels like a school day… well I am doing a school project, so I guess that explains it, but also I get to spend time with Emma, don’t think it could get any better than that,’ she thought, moving towards her dresser and wardrobe, pulling out a set of clean clothes. Jenny made her way to the bathroom and got ready for the day ahead of her.

Once she finished in the shower she got dressed and made her way downstairs where she found Ben sitting at the dining room table. She looked at him, confused, as she couldn’t understand why he was awake at an ungodly hour on a Saturday.

“Ben?”

“Oh… hey Jenny.”

“Is there a reason why you are up so early?”

“Ahh, couldn’t sleep.”

“Let me guess... girl trouble?”

“Winner.”

“Want to talk about it?”

“Wait, why are you up so early?” Ben asked, looking at her, confused.

“Oh, I have a group assignment I have to complete.”

“Oh, with who?” he asked, smiling slyly.

Jenny rolled her eyes before she replied, “Well it’s none of your business, but it’s with Emma.”

“Oh,” he said, with a big smile on his face.

“Shut up Ben, it’s not like that plus she has a girlfriend.”

“So if she didn’t have a girlfriend, then you would go there?”

“Go where?”

“Jenny….” he stared at her.

“O…. OH! No, Ben, I wouldn’t even dare.”

“Haha sure, sure, I have seen the way you look at her, I always have to draw your attention away.”

A slight blush appeared on her face when she remembered those times she stole glances at the cute blonde. ‘She is just so adorably gorgeous… Jenny!’

“Hahaha, busted!” Ben laughed.

“Huh… what?” Jenny looked at him, confused.

“You even drool when you think about her.”

“I do not,” Jenny said, glaring at him and then looking at her watch. “Alright, I better be off.”

“Want a lift?”

“No, I can manage, I want to get to know the streets a little better and I know where the library is so no need.”

“Alright fair enough, but if you need a lift home, you know my number.”

“No worries; see you later Ben.”

“Have fun Jenny,” he said with a wink, causing Jenny to roll her eyes.

Jenny made her way out the front door and into the beautiful weather the day brought with it. She started walking down the road towards the library; she looked around taking in the beautiful sites of the gorgeous colourful flowers, the singing birds and the amazing shadows cast by the sun.

She reached the library and looked at her watch; it was only 8:05 am. ‘Good thing the library opens at 8:00 am,’ she thought as she walked inside, looking around the large emptiness surrounding her. She walked over to a table that was in clear shot of the door so she would be able to see Emma when she walked in.

-----

Emma yawned and stretched as she slowly woke up from the peaceful slumber she had that night. She rubbed her eyes trying to wake herself up, once awake she reached for her phone and checked the time, it was 7:25 am, as she went to put her phone down a message came through. ‘Shit!’ she thought as she began reading it.

‘Morning sleepyhead,

Wish I could be lying next to you, but I’m not *sad face* just making sure you are awake so you won’t be late for the library. Ich Liebe Dich.

Carlie (: xx’

Emma’s face immediately lit up into a smile. ‘She is too amazing.’

‘Morning Gorgeous,

Yes I am awake, thank you, wish you were here also, and why are you awake? Ich Liebe Dich Auch.

Ems x’

She sent the message and placed her phone on the side table before heading to her wardrobe and pulling out her clothes for the day. She made her way to the shower and got ready. Once she was dressed, she made her way back into her room and picked up her phone to check if there was a message waiting for her. Opening the phone Emma saw there was and she opened it.

‘School has stuffed me up forever, I am always awake this early, have fun doing your assignment :P

Carlie (: xx’

‘You’re funny, and I sure will, see you tonight babe.

Ems x’

The blonde sent the message and then made her way down the stairs saying goodbye to her older sisters who were already up. She made her way out of the house and down the street to the library. Finally reaching the building she looked at her phone, it was 8:35, ‘Crap, the walk took longer then I expected, oh well, being a little late hasn’t hurt anyone before,’ she thought, walking into the building. She noticed Jenny sitting at a table close by, she smiled and walked over to the brunette and sat down.

“Hey, how long have you been here?”

“Morning,” she smiled. “Um… about half an hour.”

“Really? You should have called me, I could have come earlier.”

“Oh it’s fine; I didn’t mind.”

“If you say so, let go find some books,” she said, smiling with a slight blush before getting up and heading towards the Hitler and Nazi area.

“They have an actual section on Hitler? That’s bizarre,” Jenny said, confused at how many books there were.

“Haha, yes, we like to have a section for everything, that’s why this place is so big,” she replied, smirking at Jenny’s confused expression. “You are so gorgeous when you’re confused… Emma I’m not going to tell you this again; stop it!”

They grabbed a few books before they returned to their seats and sat down, placing the books on the table. They stared at them for a while before Jenny groaned.

“Where to start,” she finally let out.

“I suppose we just start reading,” Emma said, smiling.

“Good point.”

After a few hours of reading and casually stealing glances at Jenny as well as taking down notes, Emma let out a massive sigh as she pulled her hands up towards her face in defeat.

“I never realised how boring this topic would be, Hitler was just a pig who wanted to get rid of all the Jewish people because he thought they were undermining the German economy, when he wasn’t even born in Germany himself.”

“I agree with that, he wanted Germany to follow his way and no one else’s way. It’s a bit of a rip if you ask me, thankfully he isn’t in power today; he wouldn’t know where to begin.”

“You’re probably right,” Emma said as she began to laugh.

‘God your laugh is amazing,’ Jenny thought as she just starred at the blonde. She shook her head as she noticed herself staring. “So uh, I think this is enough research for today, how about tomorrow we compare notes and begin the essay and um power point and speech?” She asked with a slight blush.

Emma slightly giggled again. ‘You’re adorable when you blush… Em… oh, whatever.’ “Sure, that sounds great.”

“So what are your plans for the rest of the day?”

“Go home, hang out with my younger brother and sister and then I’m working tonight.”

“Sounds like a lot of fun,” Jenny said, smiling.

“It is, even work, the manager is hilarious and fun, the people are great even though you get a few grumpy customers.”

“There are always some idiots who have to be uptight,” Jenny said as she began laughing.

“You should come and check the food out, it’s great, well I mean... If you... uh… want to… er… that is,” Emma stuttered trying to form a sentence.

“Oh so you work at a restaurant?”

“Yes, I should have mentioned that to begin with.” Emma slightly blushed and looked towards the books. ‘I can’t keep track of the way I think when I’m around you; I just start to blurt stuff out.’

“I would love to, where is the place?”

“Uh, it’s um… Saal 1, do you need directions?”

“Nah, I will just ask Ben.”

“Ahh right, you can bring him too if you want, he quite likes the food there himself, I see him a lot, surprised he hasn’t mentioned it to you.”

“He wants it for himself.”

“Haha, probably, let’s pack this stuff away,” Emma said, getting up and grabbing the books she was reading, taking them back to the shelves. Jenny followed behind her with the rest of them. “So I will see you tonight?”

“Sure,” she said, with a smile.

“Awesome,” Emma replied as she packed her stuff away. “Bye Jenny,” she said walking around the table.

“Bye Emma,” Jenny said, smiling.

Jenny was finally home from her morning with Emma, she flopped down on the couch with a massive grin on her face. ‘She asked me to come see her at work, I need to find Ben,’ she thought, getting up off the couch.

“Hey Jenny,” she heard, coming from upstairs as she walked into the kitchen.

“Ah, there you are Ben. Are you doing anything tonight?”

“No, why?” He asked, confused.

“I want to go check out Saal 1, I was just wondering if you wanted to come as well?”

“Does this have anything to do with a cute blonde girl named Emma?” he smirked.

“Aw Ben, piss off will you. Yes, she asked me to go, but I want to check some places out.  All I have been to is the school, library and this house ever since I got here.”

“Alright, alright,” he said giving in. “Don’t get your undies in a twist.”

“Very funny Ben.”

“What time would you like to go?”

“8:30 pm?”

“Fair enough,” he said, walking into the kitchen with a smile on his face.

“Shut up Ben,” Jenny said as she walked up the stairs.

“I never said anything,” he said innocently.

“You didn’t have too; I’m going to have a little sleep.”

“Have a nice nap.”

-----

Emma arrived home with a big smile on her face after her day with Jenny. She walked in and dropped her bag by the front door before heading into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. When she returned from the kitchen she heard her younger brother and sister coming down the stairs.

“Emma… Emma… Emma!” they yelled in unison.

“Hey kiddo’s ready to go?”

“Yes,” they replied.

“Alright then, let’s head out,” she said, heading towards the door.

Emma followed a few steps behind the two younger children; they were skipping along the road as they were excited to go to the park. Once they were at the park they rushed over to the equipment to play. Emma sat down on the park bench and watched them with a smile on her face.

After about an hour of watching her brother and sister while also staring at the trees, sky and flowers her mind moved onto Jenny and not Carlie, she couldn’t help it, she just couldn’t get Jenny out of her head. ‘That smile, those eyes… really Emma why are you doing this, but… I can’t help it… there’s something about her... she’s jus…’ she was interrupted by the sound of her younger brother calling her; she shook her head to get rid of the thoughts before paying attention to him.

“Emma!” Tyler said again.

“Yes Ty?”

“We want to go home now,” he said, with a smile.

“Alright then, let’s go,” Emma spoke while getting up.

They began walking home along the familiar path that was lined with all sorts of plants and beautiful flowers, Emma loved walking places as she was able to breathe in the beautiful scent around her and feel the cool breeze of the chilly air. Once they arrived home Tyler and Simone ran upstairs and into their rooms. Emma went over to the couch and sat down and let out an exhausted sigh. ‘Long day.’

Emma decided to watch TV while she sat on the couch. She fell into a light slumber; waking up to find herself in an unfamiliar place. ‘What? Where am I?’ she thought, slightly scared. She felt someone come up behind her and wrap their arms around her; she smiled and fell even more into the embrace. The blonde felt a warm breath upon her neck before a slight kiss was placed, a small moan escaped her lips as she slightly broke away from the person holding her and turned around with her eyes shut, when she finally opened her eyes she was met with two gorgeous blue ones, they were different to her Carlie’s and she let out a confused expression until she moved back a little more to get a better view of the person’s face… ‘Emma…Emma…Emma…Emma,’ a voice came through like an echo. She closed her eyes as she tried to get rid of the voice but it came back again and even louder. ‘Emma… wake up,’ the voice said again. The blonde opened her eyes and was greeted by hazel ones.

“Ahh, you are finally awake, you need to get ready for work or you will be late,” her older sister told her.

“Oh crap! I dozed off, thanks Tracey,” Emma said, getting up off the couch and heading upstairs towards her room. Once she was in her room she grabbed her work uniform and headed to the shower to get ready.

As soon as she was finished getting ready she went downstairs and grabbed her coat. She said goodbye to her family and made her way out of the house and towards her work. Walking down the familiar road she smiled to herself as she remembered the dream. ‘Emma stop! You have a girlfriend, stop this nonsense now,’ she thought as she closed her eyes and shook her head.

Finally reaching Saal 1, she went in to begin her shift; she was greeted by her manager, Miriam, who had a grateful smile on her face as she was on a shift alone because someone called in sick. She noticed Carlie, Luzi, Timo and Hotte over in the corner where they usually sat, she went over and said hello until she was dragged back to work.

‘Hmm I wonder when Jenny is going to get here,’ Emma thought as she wiped down a table.
