There were worse ways to spend an afternoon than in the blistering heat, walking what seemed like endless miles upon miles, stopping occasionally and intermittently, and even then getting no relief (how could it actually be hotter in the shade than in the sun? Of course, there was no breeze in the shade, by necessity of the positioning of the tents, but still, was it really enough to make that kind of a difference?).

I guess I can say that the first thing that comes to mind is how very often I write (or, at least start a fic by writing) in Raven’s point of view.
The second thing that comes to mind is that it doesn’t feel to me like I often start my stories at a plain “beginning” you know? Granted, a few of those lines are beginnings for chaptered fics, but still...it still feels like I’m starting after things have been going on for awhile, even for the one-shots.
And finally, I gotta say that as far as beginnings go, they’re mostly okay. I mean, taken independently, anyone could probably come up with a dozen or so storylines, that could be MILES away from where I took it -- that’s pretty cool. (At least, I think so).
So...what do y’all think? Any insights?
