Another day another dollar!
There is always so much excitement at my school. I find it humorous the decisions the school board makes about schools that are already failing. Hmmm, their enrollment is low, class sizes are small (actually close to perfect), so let's take out teachers and increase class sizes to 28-30! That will help them bring up those darn test scores!!! So we lost 2 of our brand new teachers in 3rd grade but then moved a 5th grade teacher to 1 of those 3rd grade classes leaving 2 5th grade classes with 29 kids! What?!? Whatever...then there's also talk of our specialist teachers (music, art, PE) having to go to other schools for a day since they don't have enough kids. It might be time to begin that search for a new job this year instead of sticking it out for 3 like I planned.
Other than that my day was nothing special. I've been going over the same 4 words for 2 weeks with these 2 4th graders and they're finally starting to get it...ugh!
At least I have American Idol to look forward to! And I only have to go to work 2 more days this week - I'm taking Friday off for lovely doctor appointments!
