First of all, I had a really nice birthday on the 12th--and I thank everyone who remembered me and wished me well. I liked the fact that I got to talk to all my children, and had warm wishes from grandchildren (including Heather's husband).
Melissa gave me the "ultimate intellectual's gift"--a package of discs with all ten of the "Ma and Pa Kettle" films. I haven't seen one of those for years and years but I remember laughing a lot at them--yes, as an adult.
The HomeCare PT suggested we go outside to take a walk. With weather so spring-like, that was a gift, too. I used the walker but felt quite comfortable going down the sidewalk and along the side--and then after I got back, doing it all over again. Next week she'll work with me on letting go of the walker. At least in the house.
Somewhere along the line I had picked up cellulitus in the top of my "bad foot". I still had contact with the nurse and she got me an appointment to see the doctor the same day. The trip to the doctor with Cyn, and the antibiotics, seemed to do the trick. By now it seems quite healed tho I'll continue the last of the antibiotics. Actually, there was another gift there as I'm not allergic to penicillin and he could give me the pills he thought worked best.
As you can see, my spirits are good. Winter is over, for now at least--tho this IS Wisconsin and more snow wouldn't be a surprise--and I'm enjoying seeing little green things coming up.
And.....all your entries on LJ make me happy. :^)
