(no subject)
Wow - it's sure been a while since I updated this journal. A lot has happened since my last entry. We'll do a quick overview.
I got this great job! I wait tables on the American Orient Express. All over the US this train travels, and me with it - working 6 weeks straight is kinda tough - sleeping in a closet - dealing with everyday drama... also not being able to maintain a social life - don't really want to be romantically involved with the people I work with... too complicated. I like the job though - been through the Grand Canyon twice already. Probably 6 more times before this season is through. I've already seen 8 states in a month. Next year (I hope I still have the job) I will see Mexico and the East Coast. I still have Montana to look forward to this year.... oooooh. Montana.
Although I feel really bad - the train hit a cow yesterday. I watched as they pulled this cow out from under the train (still alive!!) and laid it on the side of the tracks. I don't think I'll be eating any steak any time soon. Maybe McDonald's. That's not real beef - right?
I'm getting extremely homesick though. Don't get me wrong - this job is the ultimate dream for me - even though I think my boss hates me - but I miss the Galaxy crew - and maybe even those people from Centralia a little bit. June 18th is when I get home and I am looking forward to it.
