such a lucky girl

so i went to galle today to canvass for ate's wedding stuff and i proved that retail therapy is still the best way to cheer a girl up.

it all started innocently enough, with me heading to the department store area to check out cake knives and servers. then i went to the ladies' shoe area to look for potential bridal shoes (you'll never know what you can find there). but i ended up looking for shoes for MYSELF. hahaha! ate les, i still tried to look for bridal shoes, but they were all fugly. so i told myself that, if ever, i won't buy anything more than P500 just so i would have a limit or something. then i found this really nice pair of shoes for only P350, but they don't have my size. oh well.

so i went around galle (systematically of course). i started from the bottom floor then worked up. i had only one accomplishment in terms of the wedding: i found a plain black halter dress, but it isn't as pretty as the one i saw picked from the website. but at least i found one, right? on the other hand, i had two accomplishments in the retail therapy front: i bought two new tops! it's so hard to stick to my P500 limit coz there's a whole bunch of stuff there that i really wanted, but i did it! two tops for under P500! (well, they're P499 each, but it's the thought that counts).

after going through entire galle, i still had about an hour and a half before i meet up with celine. so i headed to national to buy a book (stainless longganisa by bob ong) then i went to cbtl to read. just 10 minutes after settling on a comfy couch, 4 really annoying noisy girls sat beside my couch and they were uber loud! argh, annoying... thankfully, they left shortly after celine arrived.

cel and i watched sex and the city and I LOVE IT! it's like a huge series finale. i know it might be unbelievable for some, but i learned/realized a lot of things after watching that movie.

  1. no matter how crappy things are, your girl friends will always be there

  2. space is important

  3. apologizing on a daily basis won't make forgiveness come faster

  4. love may be in the details, but it's the big picture that counts

  5. you are your top priority

after the movie, i took a cab going home. while on queu, i took my ipod out (coz there are around 5 people ahead of me and waiting might take awhile) and the first song that played on shuffle mode was "suddenly i see" by kt tunstall. that cheered me up big time. but you know what cheered me up even more? the fact that within 5 minutes after getting in line for a cab, a whole bunch of cabs arrived and i got home in around 20 minutes.

i feel a lot better now. realizing such things while hanging out with a good friend can definitely lift your spirits up despite feeling really down for quite awhile. i should keep this momentum, at least till the next 3 weeks. i dunno if i'm just distracted or i'm truly on detox mode, but at least i got a bunch of stuff lined up just in case i do need a distraction.

i'm starting to have a life again without life (is short). feels really good.
