[Corrine] Welcoming Eidan

Aug 05, 2009 16:29

Ech. So, reposting old logs because I found them in my computer and because I suddenly find myself with a lot of time on my hands. Eidan's birth.

The Green Room
Draped in a soft sea green, this room has a mystical quality and is
decorated with furnishing with a nautical theme. A large four poster bed
occupies one corner of the room, its wooden posts carved with fanciful
mermaids. The bed coverings are made of a sheer, pale sea-green and the
folds in the cloth resemble small waves on a perfect ocean. The windows
which look down on the garden below, are covered in a filmy, floating fabric
of soft green. A fabulous carpet which covered most of the hardwood floor,
is decorated with sea creatures swimming on a blue-green ocean. Several
soft chairs and a small table sit near a white marble fireplace which is
against the far wall.

[Exits: west]
Comfortable padded chairs face the fireplace, creating a cozy nook.
An elaborate bed covered in silk sits in one corner of the room.

You close the door to the west.

You are now seen as:
Corrine is here, standing by the bed, panting faintly, her face a shade of crimson as she clutches onto the bedposts for support.

Corrine pants softly under her breath, clutching at the stitch in her side as she winces.

You think in common 'Oww--'

You say in common, murmuring vaguely, 'Stop kicking me...'

Corrine rubs gently at her belly, shutting her eyes as she inhales and exhales.

Kaigen has arrived from the west.

Corrine glances aside towards Kaigen, flushing heavily as she attempts to stem a relieved gasp.

Kaigen says to you in common, kneeling beside the bed and smiling, 'Don't worry, Corrine. I'm here and everything is going to be alright now.'

You say to Kaigen in common, in a lower, muffled mutter, 'Please tell me you've done this before.'

Kaigen says to you in common, smirking, 'A million times before.'

You say to Kaigen in common, releasing a soft, almost hysterical laugh, 'G-good!'

A young woman nods her head to Kaigen looking somewhat startled and runs to the doorway shouting orders down the hallway.

Kaigen says to you in common, moving close to her, 'We're going to move you onto the bed. Here, lean on me for support.'

Corrine giggles helplessly, though it is clear that she is in pain as she moves to shift her weight.

You say to Kaigen in common, murmuring faintly, 'C-can you support the weight, though? H-heavy.'

Kaigen says to you in common, smiling, 'I only need to get you into the bed.'

A servant arrives hold in his arms a pile of folded towel, bedsheets and other clothes, holding them out towards Kaigen.

Corrine chuckles faintly, nodding as she shifts her weight, entirely, now, onto Kaigen.

You say to yourself in common, in a lower mutter, 'Ummph..'

Kaigen grunts lightly, pushing you towards the bed.
Kaigen puts you down in a sitting position on the bed, turning and smiling at you.

Wobbling rather unsteadily in her seating position for a moment, Corrine shuts her eyes, one hand clasped over her abdomen as she releases yet another faint sigh.

You say to Kaigen in common, in a lower, numb murmur, 'It's going to hurt, isn't it?'

Kaigen says to you in common, sighing, 'That's what they tell me.'
Kaigen says to you in common, smiling even more widely now, 'But it won't be for long and then we'll have our first little child and cuddle and hold.'
Kaigen helps turn you and pulls your legs up onto the bed.

Corrine begins to laugh softly, though it is cut short; she squeaks in pain.
Slowly, Corrine lowers herself onto the pillows beneath her head.

Kaigen says to a servant in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Alright, lay the towels down on the bed.'
Kaigen says to a young woman in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'And how's that water coming?'

A servant and a young woman busy themselves following Kaigen's orders.

Kaigen says to you in common, smiling warmly, 'And you, just relax and breath deeply.'

You say to Kaigen in common, nodding stiffly, 'I can do that.'

Corrine shuts her eyes, clasping one hand over them as she attempts to still her breathing.

You say to yourself in common, murmuring vaguely as she exhales, 'One--two--'

Kaigen grabs hold of your free hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

Corrine repeats the vague murmuring, pausing only to give Kaigen a tiny, rather pained smile.

You say to Kaigen in common, in a lower, stiff murmur, 'I'm okay. Don't worry.'

You are now seen as:
Corrine is here, lying flat on her back upon the bed, propped up against several pillows with her legs spread wide open, one hand clasped over her eyes.

Soon enough A layer of towels and sheets is prepared before you on the bed and another servant brings in a pot of warm water, setting it before Kaigen.
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Alright, we're ready. How are you feeling?'

Corrine attempts a brave smile, though, finding herself at a loss for words, she chooses instead to nod feebly at Kaigen.

Kaigen stands up, letting your hand slide from his grasp and moves to crouch at the en of the bed.
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Alright, you yourself need to push the baby out. I know this seems strange but it should be a natural feeling for you.'

Blinking almost frantically at Kaigen for a moment, Corrine grips a pillow-hard, and chews down upon her lower lip.

You say to Kaigen in common, muttering numbly, 'Alright... pushing. How--'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'It's not going to feel good, but you're gonna have to keep doing it.'

Corrine seems to think better of speaking, however, and simply shuts her eyes, offering a vague nod.

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'And don't forget to breath. Keep breathing.'

Releasing a faint chuckle, Corrine nods once more; she inhales, and exhales, rather heavily.

You say to Kaigen in common, in a lower murmur, 'So... when does this pushing begin?'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'It starts with you. '

You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'You don't say.'

Corrine releases a soft giggle through gritted teeth, before nodding.

Kaigen says to you in common, chuckling, 'You need to push. Feel it in your hips and push.'

Shutting her eyes once more, Corrine grips, hard, upon several scattered pillows at her side, wincing as she releases a soft moan.

You say to Kaigen in common, panting slightly, 'A-anything yet?'

Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'Keep going, you're getting there.'

You say to Kaigen in common, faintly, 'Okay!'
Corrine half laughs and half cries, though she appears to be attempting to push once more; she releases yet another soft moan.

Kaigen says to you in common, shrieking with delight, 'I can see the baby crowning, one more push!'
Kaigen feels at his side for his sheath and pulls out the dagger, laying it beside him on the floor.

Corrine begins sobbing fully now, rather than laughing, though she squeezes heavily upon the pillows; she pushes once more.

You think in common '*even in the midst of her pain* Oh, I hope that dagger is clean!'

Kaigen reaches under your dress. Pulling his arms out a moment later, the room echoes with the cries of a baby.

Corrine buries her face into the pillow directly beneath her, stiffling her soft sobs as she attempts to still her breathing.

Picking up the knife, Kaigen expertly cuts the umbilical cord and brings the baby over to the basin of warm water, where he bathes the baby.
Wrapping the baby in a spare towel, Kaigen brings the bundle over to you, kissing you softly on the cheek and handing the baby to her.
Kaigen says to you in common, smiling radiantly, 'Congratulations, Mrs. Ketsu. It's a healthy baby boy.'

Corrine begins to laugh amidst her tears now. Slowly pushing herself into a sitting position, Corrine stares faintly at Kaigen for a moment, her hazel orbs tear-stained, before gazing down at the little baby.

You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'Oh! He has your hair!'
You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'I was scared that he'd... he'd have -my- hair.'

Kaigen quickly gathers up the now dirty and soiled towels and hands them to a rather disgusted looking servant.
Kaigen says to you in common, glancing up at you, 'Well, my old hair at least. I was rather afraid Ayssia's enchantment might carry over.'

You say to Kaigen in common, chuckling faintly, 'That, too... He's cute.'
You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'Like you, then.'

Kaigen smiles moving to sit down next to you and gaze at his son.

Corrine winces slightly, rubbing gently at the side of her head as she gazes back and forth between Kaigen and the child.

You think in common '...Am I going to be a good mother? What if I end up a complete mess?'

Kaigen says to you in common, smiling, 'I do believe he has your eyes though.'

You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'How could you see? His eyes are shut..'

Kaigen says to you in common, rubbing the back of his neck, 'I..uh...took a peek while I was bathing him.'

Corrine releases a soft snicker.
You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, 'You mean you poked him in the eye? Kaigen!'
Corrine gives Kaigen a vague smile, chuckling as she leans her cheek upon Kaigen's shoulder.

Kaigen says to you in common, somewhat guiltfully, 'I was just examining him, you know, making sure everything was there and alright. So I might have...forced his eye open for just a moment.'
Kaigen looks at you.

You say to Kaigen in common, smiling vaguely as she sighs; tired, 'It's nice to know there's -some- part of me in there.'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'I'm sure there's more to him than meets the eye. '

You say to Kaigen in common, chuckling softly, 'Maybe. Or maybe he'll turn out just like you in personality, too.'
You say to Kaigen in common, in a soft, breathless murmur, '...What're we going to -name- him?'

Kaigen says to you in common, glancing at her, 'Well....I thought maybe you could name him. I'm not familiar with alot of Alandian names and he doesn't deserve to be stuck with a Naiadian name.'

You say to Kaigen in common, chuckling softly, 'Uhm... why don't I throw out some names, and you choose?'

Kaigen says to you in common, grinning, 'Alright.'

You say to Kaigen in common, chuckling, as she leans forward to gaze at the now-sleeping baby, 'Devan? Jobe... Jesse...'

Kaigen shakes his head.

You say to Kaigen in common, straightening now, and tapping a finger to her lower lip as though in thought, 'Micah... Laurent... '

Kaigen shakes his head.

You say to Kaigen in common, blinking slowly, '...How about Eidan?'

Kaigen smiles for a moment.
Kaigen says to you in common, in a calm, baritone voice, 'I like that....Eidan Ketsu.'

You say to Kaigen in common, smiling slightly, 'I like that too, actually.'

Corrine leans towards the baby once more, crooning softly under her breath.
