Excitement abound
Today didn't start until 11:00am, because that's when I woke up. I haven't really had the opportunity to sleep in much since I moved, so it was delightful in the extreme.
This has been a super fun weekend. Saturday night I went out with Susan (my blonde clone) and got drunk. Then the next day I did some work and then my friend Matteo called. Matteo and I walked around a bit and then I coerced him into coming to dinner with Karen and Me. I drove up to Manayunk and took Karen to dinner. It was easier to just charge the whole thing, so I paid for Matteo too, I think he was a bit offended. I just figure that's what friends do when they have the opportunity. So then we walked around Manayunk with some of Karen's friends and got ice cream when we couldn't find a good place to booze at. I, of course, got ice cream on myself, but I think I got most of it out. So then I drove home and went to bed since I didn't sleep much the few nights before.
Today I woke up with the full intention of doing work, but Megan was in town and Angela (my new friend) was having a BBQ. Luckily, I discovered that I already did some of my reading for tomorrow, so it won't be too bad tonight (or tomorrow morning...ah 6 am wake-ups, how I LOATHE you). The BBQ was awesome. I had already eaten lunch with Megan and Mike, so I didn't eat, but I had a few beers and chatted up Angela's friends who are adorable. Andrea (another law school friend) was there too and I met Angela's friends Mandy and Danny. They were super fun and I can't wait for them to hang out with us in the future.
I also told Matt that things wouldn't work out between us, but he's being rather persistent about taking me out without boozing (I just didn't feel the connection, but how do you explain that to someone who does...although I guess maybe that's what Andy had to deal with with me). Anyway, I just wish I'd never said yes to him, now I've opened up a can of worms and I don't know what to do. Right now I'm going to forget about it and deal with it tomorrow. I have to write my memorandum tonight and read a few cases. ANDANDAND MEGAN IS SLEEPING OVER. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited. I miss her so much and I wish we had more time together, but, per usual, I'll take what I can get. She should be here soon, so I will journey off into the land of Contracts and Torts to visit with the happy little people of litigation land. Good times, good times.
