Linux?
Who here knows about the different software on laptops? After one of David's blow ups he had a full go at me and I guess mum is feeling guilty so she's offered to buy me a laptop. It really is terribly sweet of her so I don't want to spend a heap of money. I've been looking at a little Asus eeePC 701SD because it's a sturdy little thing which I've been told will last a long time but also an Acer Aspire One has caught my eye and it's a similar laptop ot what I used to have.
I can't decide between them and they're both in the same price bracket. But one is Windows XP and one is Linux.
So, I'm putting it to you guys... which is better? Do any of you have any experience with Linux? Will the programs I have on my current Windows work with Linux? Will my files work??
Basically I'm a bit lost, I've only ever used Windows and anyone I talk to in shops doesn't care whether it'll cause problems they just want money.
Please help!
