College

Yes, Loyola University New Orleans is an incredible school. It is perfect, but it is perfect for ME. It is the school I was meant to go to because of personal reasons. It is highly unlikely that Loyola will also be the perfect school for everyone else, and there are thousands and thousands of colleges and universities throughout the united states and the world that could be the perfect place for YOU to be. So use search engines, find the school that is right for you, not just a school that you hear is good. It's like going to Texas A&M or University of Texas just because that's what you do after Tomball High School.

This isn't meant to offend those who are interested in Loyola, but dear god, so many people have been influenced by my going to Loyola, and it's a little silly considering the overwhelming range of colleges. College is about finding where you want to be, by discovering who you want to be, who you will be. It is not about following others' dreams... comprende? If however, you do feel like you dream is in New Orleans, then by all means go and we will dance in the cobblestone streets. Keep in mind I did a lot of research, I applied to a lot of schools and changed my mind a lot of times, but I was well informed about all the other colleges before I came here.

I encouraged Laura to explore colleges, and her search stemmed from Loyola. Now she is applying to her dream school, NYU, Rice, TCU etc. Ashley is applying to fashion schools in London and Paris, Jennifer is learning the importance of doing things for herself and not for her parents. I understand how Loyola is used as a device to inspire inner expoloration, and I admire this.

So, Loyola is not the latest trend. It is merely the reason to find out where you really need to be and actually go there. So good luck to all in your searching, and good luck on finals. I just aced History! WOOOT!
