This actually, honestly made me cry.

The ache, the deep emptiness, the anger that's there - God, you paint it so well, and it's so fucking painful. It reminds me so much of being in love with someone I really, honestly couldn't ever have and you get it so spot on I almost hate you for it! And love you at the same time!

The conversation between them when John finally knows what's going on is perfect and heart-rending. And the ending is like... a shot to the knee. Not enough to kill but enough to wound.

I love this and it's one of the most genuinely emotional reads I've had in a while. Thank you so, so much.
