Driving home this morning,
the sky was a million shades of blue.
I followed the all too familiar course
Driving up Hilltop and making a right onto Bloomsbury.
My favorite view.
That of the city, from this high, distant vantage point.
The sky was a mix of reds and purples just above the city,
with a band of orange binding them with the blue.
It was simply breathtaking.
I was half tempted to stop the car and take in the moment.
But I didn't need to. In that moment was held infinity.
I've always wondered how people can witness something
as magnificent as the sunrise, and take it for granted.
I wish I was at the beach, sun breaking the horizon,
ocean breeze striking my face. Alone, or with someone.
A slice of infinity for but a moment.
Something about that is complete serenity.
And in that moment, all pains, all worries are forgotten.
Nothing matters.

To see a world in a grain of sand
And Heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour
