To whom do I owe my thanks?

My name's Milen.
What's yours?

Jules! Grumley. ( Offering a hand to shake, very enthusiastically. She sort of radiates enthusiasm. ) It's very nice to meet you, Milen. ( Although she repeats his name a little questioningly, just to make sure she's pronouncing it right. )
So, what do you think about change?

[He takes out another cigarette, taking the moment to answer he before lighting it.] Change? Well... [Hmm.] Change is good. It can be good, I mean, as long as no one gets hurt. But everything changes with or without intention or fear, right?

She just exhales some smoke as he talks, thoughtfully tapping the filter end of the cigarette against her wrist. ) My sentiments exactly. I like to think change can be for the better, more often then not. Healthy, you know? Part of life.

Oh, yes, I know what you mean. [Milen looks very much engaged in this conversation now.] It seems to me that none of us would really go anywhere without change, you know? I even met a bunch of people who were really sad about always doing the same things every day.

( Oh! And that further peaks her interest. ) Really? What sort of group were they?
Reply
Yes, I'd hope so... as long as they're welcome. No one likes to be forced to these things. [a hesitant pause.] I think.
[And back to the regular tone.] Well, not really a group as much as... people I met in my travels. [He still has to remind himself to say 'travels', not 'quest'.] Most of them were used to a routine. [he looks away and gestures with his hand, trying to remember the right word.] And they said something about feeling they were stagnating?

Ah, I see. ( She takes a drag of her cigarette. ) That... stagnating feeling, it doesn't sound at all pleasant. ( Taking a moment to think it over, Jules leans against this... very handy wall. ) I mean, so far as feelings go, that would surely be rather low down on the scale. Perhaps around a two out of ten?
So, where did you travel? Lots of exciting places?
