Alive? [he interrupts her before she can even get a chance to think of how to finish her sentence, revenge cleverly masked under the loud amusement in his voice.] It's a very funny story. I should tell you all about it sometime.

[ Now that Teagan is no longer hungry, now that she's back to normal- or at least as normal as she can be - she doesn't have the same cocky belief in herself and what she can do. Taking a step back, away from Salem, she tries to quickly glance around, see if there is somewhere she can run away. She knows she shouldn't talk too much, in case she aggravates him further, but she can't help it, even when her voice is a little weak with fear. ]

[ More shifting away - she's not trying to be subtle, she's not trying to hide her fear. She has a feeling, from their last encounter, that Salem is fairly capable of unpleasantries... though to be honest, she's not sure if she can blame him, given the fact that she killed him last time they met. ]

I was trying to be polite. I think I've earned a bit of sympathy.

[Something definitely isn't right in his tone, in his movements, in his head. It happened when Payton blew up his world, it happened when he died the first time, and again when she broke him into pieces.

His overly enthusiastic smile and tone die down into something more threatening, knowing.]

It isn't every day you get eaten up by a monster.

[He was unconscious when she did, true, but his body kept the memories when he slowly regrew into one of his scattered pieces of skin, and he's collected enough information from the various worlds people come from to reach that conclusion. Lucky he decided to leave a bit of himself behind around here -- it would have been so terribly difficult to find her otherwise.]

[ She freezes, staring at Salem with growing unease. Even in her anger she had made a point to at least render him unconscious or snap his neck before she- yes. She hadn't been so far gone that she hadn't cared about that. Most of the time, she preferred not to hear the screaming, the begging or ghd heaving chests. She speaks slowly, as calmly as she can manage. She doesn't want him getting under her skin - but then she's never been that good at defending herself. ]

No. [ She bristles a little, fingers rolling into fists. She doesn't particularly want to explain her condition to him. ] I can't help it.

I'm sorry. I know it doesn't make anything better, but it's not like I went out of my way to pick on you. I don't mean to drag anyone into it, but that's just how it is. I'm so, so sorry.

Yeah, you kind of did. But don't worry. [He makes dramatic little gestures, lowering his voice.] I won't tell.

I didn't- I didn't mean it like that- [ She makes a noise of frustration, taking a step back once again. ] You were there. That was the only reason why I did it to you. The- the rest has no excuse.
