[ All right, this guy here is completely lost and looking very... well, lost. And confused. And a bit scared. ]

What is going on? [ TERRIBLE FRENCH ACCENT, AUGH. ]

( Hello there, Monsieur French, there is a charming English lady looking over, smiling a bit sympathetically because they've all been there, and ambling over with her take-away cup of coffee. ) It's rather bewildering here, I know. I take it you just arrived?

[ He looks at her, appearing to have been bamboozled or something, and blinks. ]

Oui, I-- I just arrived to... here? Where are we? I don't remember getting here.

( Just be grateful there are no yoghurt goblins about, sir. Jules will smile her ever cheerful smile. )

It's a bit complicated. You might want to sit down, actually, it's-- well it's rather bizarre. ( Aha. Ha.

Oh, but she'll offer him her hand. First things first. ) I'm Jules, by the way. Jules Grumley, it's nice to meet you.

[ He looks continuously confused and even seems to grow more confused as she keeps talking. There's a moment of pause, but he's a polite man, so he takes her hand and shakes it lightly, like a gentleman would. ]

Oh, my apologies. I am Florian Vigneaux.

( Oh! Florian! That's a lovely name, very unusual.

... is what she might have said a few weeks ago. Now, however, that name proves a bit of a stumbling block. ) Florian Vigneaux? ( Umm. ) Right! Right, well, Florian, this is... an alternate world that we're all stuck in an where very strange things happen.

[ It's not weird for him to sometimes have that reaction. He's a freelance artist and sometimes people interested in his photography will recognize his name, so he doesn't pay attention to that. ]

Quoi? That is absurd! [ How French of him. ]

( Just pressing her lips together, and then trying another smile, although it's definitely a little strained. )

Isn't it? It's... absurd is just the word for it. ( Clearing her throat. ) It takes some getting used to.

[ He groans and rubs his forehead, his other hand on his hip, walking back and forth a little distressed. ]

This cannot be! I can't get used to this. [ Another groan. ] My wife, we just found out she's pregnant, I can't be here, I must be with her.

( Her arms are crossed, and she's doing her best to look relaxed although she is certainly a bit stressed.

And oh. Oh, my God. She is judging you, Florian, biting the inside of her cheek. ) Congratulations. ( A bit passive aggressive, although she sounds perfectly cheerful. ) I'm sure you'll get back to her as soon as possible.

[ Come on, now, he's not the bad guy here. He does love his wife, very much, but part of his heart still loves Em. He feels bad about it, he tried to contact her after that night, but nothing. If anything, Emilia is just as guilty as he is.

Only one would guess Jules doesn't see it that way. ]

Can I not get a taxi or a plane? [ He looks quite distressed. ] I have money, ah, I have plenty money.

( She sure doesn't. Ah, sweet, sweet bias. If she knew that Florian still loved Em, though - and she already knows he is still attracted to her physically, which is bad enough - there would be some words to be had. Maybe Em is just as guilty, just as accountable, but she knows that Em feels bad, and she is automatically pinning Florian to the jerk category board. Whether or not he feels bad, or guilty, she doesn't want to know. It's easier disliking him. )

Money won't get you out of here, I'm afraid. We're all here together, for the time being.

[ He seems really sad about this whole ordeal. He rubs his hand against his face and shakes his hair, running a hand through his hair. ]

Ah, merde. [ He glances at Jules apologetically. ] Ah, pardon. This is just, very-- [ Damn. Worried about his little wife. ]

( Ah. And that would be just the sting of guilt. Of course he's upset. )

No, it's... fine, really. 'Merde' is an excellent word for the current situation. ( AHAHA. Ha.

Damn it. ) There are some excellent cafes, if you needed to... collect yourself.

[ He sighs and places a hand against his chest, offering a sad smile. ]

That would be lovely. Please, let me buy you a coffee. [ He looks at the one she has on her hand. ] Or another one, at least.
