( OFFERING A HAND TO SHAKE: ) I'm Jules. Lovely to meet you.

[ Somehow the kid isn't very confused by the sudden socialness of Jules. In fact, she seems almost endeared by it - as if she was expecting it - and takes her hand very lightly, as if she could break it if she shakes it too hard. ]

Hi. [ Her smile grows a little wider. ] Yes, it's... lovely to meet you too. [ Kind of bemused. ]

[sitting in a bustling coffee shop window in the early morning sunlight, ignoring his rapidly-cooling pot of tea in favour of people-watching and idly doodling on his discarded napkin with a well-chewed biro. He looks happy enough: content, if not a little lonely.]

Excuse me, sir? [ So very lost, yes she is, can be seen in her eyes. ]

[Gideon turns, surprised at the little voice at his elbow, and he sits back in his seat to regard her curiously]

Hello there. [his voice is light and pleasant but his eyes are already sweeping up and down the little coffee shop in search of her parents] Are you alright?

[ She looks around, alike only regarding this place for the first time, and eventually nods. ]

Yup. A relic from my family, so I guess mine and my sister's. But she's our baby, yeah.

[There is a lady wandering through the farmer's market early in the morning, looking a bit dazed, but complacent. There is also a teenage boy somewhere in the market trying to find her, but it's not like she'll get into any trouble without him, he's just a bit protective.

Jackie stops to run her fingers over some flowers for sale, leaning in to smell them. She gives them a longing look but doesn't buy any and keeps walking.]

[ Trouble? Here? Hardly.

The pretty girl definitely caught her eye, so she's going to follow her around a bit, and she is definitely curious when Jackie touches the flowers. She hasn't seen many flowers. ]

What're you doing?

[She startles slightly, she wasn't really expecting anyone to stop her or talk to her, but she looks over her shoulder, taking in the blonde girl. She doesn't know her, but she's probably harmless, if a bit stupid maybe, because it was obvious what she'd been doing.

All Jackie says is,]

[ Stupid could be the word, but it's more of a fact that Rai is still trying to figure out how most things work. If anything, it's more "kid dumb". ]
