Hmmm Haven't updated in quite some time

As I have a botany exam tomorrow morning, I don't feel like studying and I certainly wouldn't ever go to bed at a reasonable time to be properly rested for such a thing, I'm going to finally update this thing :).

My classes this semester are pretty easy. Botany, European history before 1500, and Traditional Africa. I dropped Spanish 2 because it was boring and I didn't ever feel like spending time on it, which is kind of bad so I dropped it. The first class I've ever dropped. It felt good :). I went from 15 units to 10 because of it. I now fill that time with tutoring a first grade girl named Valeria (she's actually extremely smart, but just not really reading proficiently yet). I enjoy this a lot more than Spanish 2. I also do some English tutoring at PCC (4 hours, woo! hahaha). I'm still at iSold it. Working more and more every week, it seems. My paychecks keep getting a lot bigger. I guess I can't complain too much :). I really don't mind it that much either. It's not my favorite thing ever, but it certainly isn't terrible. There are only a couple of customers who I really can't stand and no one else can either, so it's totally cool.

Upcoming things of excitement. sort of. I have to apply to colleges again soon. I feel like I just did this, and do not want to do it again. It was 3 years ago, but it was still a pain. Right now, my current list is UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, San Diego State University, and CSU Northridge ('cause, why not?). I'm planning on going in as a Classics major/History minor. After my internship I realized that I really like kids as individuals and small groups, but I don't like them so much as herds. I'm going to try middle school and/or high school. I may even try to teach Latin, if I can convince anyone that it's still really cool, if not important. :-P

As a result of me having to look at schools, and Josh also having to look at (grad) schools, we're going up to UC Berkeley and Stanford over Thanksgiving break. His aunt lives about 30 minutes away from Stanford and about an hour away from Berkeley, so we'll stay there and have Thanksgiving dinner and stuff. Josh is looking at both Stanford and UC Berkeley, and MIT a little bit but he doesn't seem to really want to go there.

Other exciting trip: Me and Vicki are going to Winchester for 3 weeks over winter break (instead of my usual 4-day stint). We'll be landing 12/18 and staying until 1/6. I'll also probably be getting my wisdom teeth pulled on the 20th of December. Yippee skippy. Unless I need to have it done by an oral surgeon, then it might have to wait. :/ I would really like them out. They're getting obnoxious at this point. Not really ever painful, just kind of annoying. One of them isn't in quite right, so it's messing up my bottom teeth a bit, but if I'm getting one out, I may as well get them all out (I can't stand for asymmetry).

Ummm I ordered bunk beds on ebay 3 weeks ago and they aren't here yet :(. They were supposed to be delivered on Wednesday, but I didn't have my phone that day (I accidentally left it at Caltech), so they didn't get delivered and it's unclear when they're going to redeliver. They're really cool though and I'm very excited for them. http://www.childrensbedroomfurnishings.com/twin-bunks-lofts/ginger-twin-lofts.html

Oh yeah, new place. It's good. I feel like Vicki and I are very hermit-y and antisocial, and I feel kind of bad about that, but we just are. It's in a pretty good location, but it's a little farther from the places I enjoy going frequently, like anywhere on Lake Ave. This is probably for the best though, I'm eating fast food significantly less often.

After several World of Warcraft characters cast aside as a result of disinterest or boredom, I have finally made one that I feel like is at a "real" level now. I think I just wasn't making characters suited to my personality, and needs (having a short attention span and being easily bored or amused, especially). It's level 32 (the highest possible is currently 70, Josh's main character is level 67), and I feel like I'm within reach of some really cool abilities and I'm getting increasingly excited about end-game content. My character is a Druid, which means that it's not especially great at anything, but it can get any job done- which I've always said is a lot like me. It is addictive, and I've known people who dropped out of school because they were playing too much, but they were doing foolish things like skipping work and classes to play. I do not and will not do this.

Oh, I'm also getting paid to take a tutoring training class. I don't get any units for it, but I get a $250 stipend at the end and national board of tutors certification, which is pretty cool. I feel really busy sometimes, but I have huge gaps of time on Mondays and Wednesdays where I just do nothing (play WoW or read), and I'm always home by 7 (except Thursday, where I'm at school or work from 8:45am to 9 or 10pm).

That's all I can think of now. So, I definitely need to get a little bit of last minute cramming in, and go to sleep (If I get an A on all of my exams then I don't have to take the final!)

Oh, I also only have to take one more class before I qualify for the transfer AA degree. An art class, of course. Blah. I think I'm going to take Classical (Greco-Roman) Architecture. "The History of Art" sounds absolutely terrible. I like it in little bits and chunks. Thomas Cole, I like but I don't really want to wade through tons of paintings and sculptures for a semester.
