So last night I actually wrote out my schedule on a spreadsheet, since the new semester started yesterday. Turns out I'm taking 5 classes (16 units) and working 40+ hours/week. There was an initial period of serious freaking out. Especially after Math and English. Geography and Speech have calmed me down a lot though. They are essentially not classes for me. Speech is a total of about fourteen minutes of speaking with no homework or anything like that. Geography is easy for me, generally speaking. The only class left is Education and if it's anything like last semester, it shouldn't be too bad so all I really have to worry about is keeping up with my Math and English. I'm significantly more calm than I was around noon today. Yesterday was my first day at Polytechnic and it was awesome. I spent most of the day grading papers, but it really helped me get to know the kids' names. I also learned long division!!! I think... We'll see if I've finally actually learned it soon. Anywho, I also have a plan for if I start feeling too overwhelmed. First, I'll cut back my tutoring hours, since those are during hours which I would likely actually do homework and such. Then, I'll drop English if I really need to since it isn't really a class I really, really need to take now and it's pretty time consuming but it's also mostly poetry, so I should be fine. I've never dropped a class before, and I don't really plan on starting now.
