I don't really understand all of these killings happening... But I suppose there's a lot of things about the world I don't understand, or care to understand any time soon.

[There are some idle lines drawn, swirling about before she starts writing againI went to Diagon Alley. I had a lot of fun, even if i was very tired afterwards. It was nice to ( Read more... )

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them for you. You're going to be a first year, correct?

Yes, I am!

I have so many questions though, I'm not sure where to begin. I've heard briefly about the Houses, so how do we know which House we're supposed to go into?

When you get to the school, you'll put on a talking hat, and it will decide which house you'll be in. It looks inside your head, and sees which qualities you represent the best.

A talking hat? That's... interesting.

What traits do the Houses represent?

Slytherin is for the ambitious and the leaders, Hufflepuff is for the loyal and the hard-working, Ravenclaw is for the intelligent and creative, Gryffindor is for the brave and the hotheaded. I was a Slytherin.

The sorting hat always recites a poem before you all try him on, it should say the same thing, more or less.

Was? Oh-- did you graduate? What do you do once you graduate from that place...?

I wonder what House I'll be in? It all seems a little much...

You go out into the world and do whatever you please, like you would after leaving a Muggle school. I'm coming back for a little while to help with the Flying classes. All the first years have to take it, I'll probably see you.

It will seem so at first, but you should settle in quickly.

What kind of things can a with or wizard do after school? There are jobs, right?

[There's a pause in the writing, before it picks up. it's lost its neat, sophisticated lines in her excitement] Flying classes??

You can do nearly anything. Wizards have their own police, their own doctors, their own businesses, their own entertainers, you can do anything, love.

Flying. We use brooms. It's one way to get from place to place, and we use them for sports, too.
