Last night, My Huney and I went to see The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It was excellent! Each of the members of the LXG was a character from a novel...Mr.Hyde/Dr. Jekyl (also played off as the beast from E.A. Poe's Murders in the Rue Morgue) Captain Nemo and his Nautilus, The invisible man, Tom Sawyer, and Sean Connery as Allan Quartermain the great hunter. He leads the league on a mission to save the world from a catastrophic world war in the year 1899, as a corrupt arms dealer tries to create tensions between countries in order to sell his weapons of destruction to the country with the highest bid. The plot and the characters were excellent, and with a few rare exceptions stuck to the characters' traits as they were originally portrayed in thier novels. The exception is the Nautilus submarine, which is much much larger than the book explained it to be, and Mr. Hyde may have been a little bit overdramatized, but otherwise the character traits all remain the same. Good movie, worth the time and money to see it. And this is coming from a college student who's as broke as they come. My next must-see movie is the Pirates of the Carribean, so it's time for me to pray I don't have work tonight and try to talk My Huney into seeing it with me tonight! It's a matter of buttering up good ol' Dad for some cash! Hehehe...I'm so evil...Last night before the movie, we located him at his usual watering hole, the local bar, for some food and a few drinks for me (i actuallyhad girlie drinks...a raspberry peach splash and a pinapple-orange flavored wine coolers) I think it was all i could stomach after all the sour drinks I had at the wedding reception i went to saturday. all in all, a good weekend, as i got to spend lots of quality time with My Huney. We didn't argue even once this week or weekend! YAY!!! not that we argue often, but considering i'm in super-bitch PMS mode, that's an accomplishment. I'm just a bit miffed that he bested me, but only by 1,000 points, in Ms. Pac-Man while we were waiting for the movie to start. BTW, if you intend to go the the movies at Brunswick Square Mall, make sure to bring plenty of teenie-bopper repelent and try the One Sweet Whirled Ben and Jerry's ice cream they have there. It's coffe ice cream swirled with caramel and coffee flavored fudge chips...very yummy, and this is coming from an avid chocolate hater. Anyhow, I've babbled too long and i need to drag My Huney's butt to the store to buy me some butts...stogies that is...cigarettes...cowboy killers...cancer sticks...menthol flavor carcinogens...
