I need more money, buddy!

I'm not your buddy, friend!
I'm not your friend, guy!

Anyways...

Browsing through the intarwebs this early in the morning has led me to some pretty intriguing sites - via Ecogeek.com I came across this page on the new Transbay Terminal for San Francisco, which looks stunning, and is awesomely green to boot - its 5.4 acre roof a park? Awesome. The design itself is beautifully light and airy, and it can accommodate California's future high-speed rail plans. Too bad it'll be done in the mid 2010s, but I can be patient. I'd love to come walking out of my train into that kind of building.

From here I ended up at Inhabitat.com, which is, to my heart's delight, a green architecture and design news site, compiling stories similarly to Ecogeek.com and others (Digg.com, etc). I came across some really compelling eye candy.

Anybody want to guess what that chandelier is made out of? Apparently its all used coffee stirrers. The way it dilutes the light is beautiful - to me it looks like water falling. Plus its a way of getting all those coffee stirrers - used for like, 10 seconds and tossed out - out of the landfills. And, yes, I'm sure they clean the coffee stirrers before turning them into works of art, unless you like coffee-smelling lights?

Apparently these are light-emitting glass plates. I wish I could find an explanation as to how they worked, but the light they give off is pretty impressive. I could think of a number of ways they can be used to accent or light rooms. Perfect. Fashionable green design...although perhaps more mainstream would be better. It'd certainly be more affordable.

And thats that. Kind of why I'd like moar moneys.
