When: Timed to the day after
this thread.
Warnings and Notes: AU for
hearts_andminds Data supposed it wasn't really sneaking if the Doctor had to know what you were doing. His link with the TARDIS likely alerted him to the android's presence. As it was, there was a pale gold-skinned suit clad figure resting leisurely in the TARDIS's floor, a bit of brown haired cranial plating sat off to the side of him and the heart of the TARDIS open just the slightest bit to allow two clear cords to run into his head.
He was typically limited to the five human senses (and only with his emotion chip were they of any value); but here, hooked up to her, he could sense so much more. Could register such vast amounts of differing stimulus and process it all effortlessly. Of course, that should have made him feel guilty. And it did, slightly. The fact that he could interface so directly with the other AI, in a way that he would not have allowed most other AIs to connect to him for prolonged periods of time as his efforts to be more human dictated that he use verbal communication, was immensely intriguing to him.
Meanwhile, he let her investigate his systems freely. It was a small price to pay to curb a sense of loneliness that he couldn't quite shake. He would probably have to apologize to the Doctor later for the invasion... whenever he came to shoo him out.
Or maybe the Doctor was just grateful enough for what he did to let him sit like that in the floor and bask in the ship's limitless capacity for caring and affection. Maybe.
He could hope, anyway. He couldn't think of a better way to spend the evening than muddling his thoughts with a curious timeship.
