***SPOILERS***

As the movie goes on, I shall make my observations.

Hmm.  20 years ago. . . Kids were under behavior studies at some secret hospital that "didn't exist."  Some girl is left by her mother at that place.  How mean.

DINA MEYER!  She's a psychology teacher.  Who was showing a slide.  Class is over. . . and now she's getting freaky images on her projection screen.  And everything goes blank.

She might've been the kid from the beginning who was tormented.

Uhoh, Preacher guy.  Looks familiar.  He too is having issues.  Looks like an abandoned church with everything covered in cloths.  Things for the Lord's supper is laid out around a Jesus statue. . . and something under the sheets move!  Saw that coming, and it still freaked me out.

Another familiar face.  Some blonde, who I've seen in "John Doe."  She's trying to work on some clay sculpture, and has a freaky moment and rips its bottom jaw off.  Cut to the sky and now people in a cemetary.

First view of Traci Lords!  Along with Dina Meyer, the blonde, who seems to be brunette now, or perhaps sandy blonde?  The preacher guy is there with two new guys.

Their friend died and wanted them open a box together.  There's a map to some time capsule they buried long ago.  Their dead friend wrote books, creepy horror books at that.

Some want to go find the time capsule, some don't.  They discuss it over dinner and finally decide to go.  Yeah, the blonde-brunette has highlights i think.  *shakes head*  What kind of idiot drives a Ford?  And now they have to walk.

Hmm, there are 6 people, yet they were called Crazy Eights?  If their friend was 7, where's 8?

Interesting how they all form a circle around the time capsule when they find it. . . Time to open.  Bad idea.  They're creeped out by it all.  Freaky memories come flooding back.  I feel that something bad is going to happen.  Yep.

Ok, maybe not.  They were trying to hoist the capsule out of this place with an old rope and pulley.  I assumed it would fall on someone.  It fell, just not on anyone.  Dead body inside.

And they all walk away forever creeped out.  So, back into the Ford and off to home.  They're driving in circles.  Ah, creepy white house.  Let's check it out.  Dumbasses.

Rules of a horror movie apply.  One rule being. . . the lights never work!  Of course there has to be a cellar.  And they must explore it.  Somehow, the guy with the scar fell and broke his leg in the cellar.  Traci Lords wants to go off and find help.  Bad things happen in the cellar.  If you need a reference, try the Evil Dead Trilogy.  Ok, Traci doesn't wanna leave scar.  So, she searches for the lights.  With a flip of the circuit breaker, let there be light.  Then she leaves the guy again, all alone in the cellar.

Lol.  Guy has a breakdown and uses the "f" word about fifty times in front of the preacher.  And Traci finds the others and tells them.  They're all in the cellar.  What happens next?  Anyone?  Doors close and lock!  They're trapped.  "we have to get out!"  Lo and behold, PASSAGEWAY!  (to hell.)  They reach some kind of room and begin searching the area.  Two by two.  When in doubt, do NOT go down the stairs. . . into the dark abyss of doom.

I should write horror survival guides.

No luck on escaping.  Back to the room before.  Big white brick room with books and folders.  Brunette goes off on her own while everyone else is quiet and falling asleep, well, at least the other women.  The preacher is praying, and one guy wonders if its really any use.  Brunette found a room with beds.  Dark room with 8 beds.  Of course, she sees creepy kids and runs away.

Now, cripple is slowly breaking off from the group, while brunette is still wandering.  Cripple gets up to look out the window when kids appear behind him.  My heart jumps as the window falls and kills him.  Dum dum dum.  Dumbasses.

Brunette returns.  Everyone freaks and wants to leave.  They're gathered in a kitchen like area.  Though the appliances look quite new.  Ah, confession time.  We've all had weird dreams, but are they really dreams?  What the hell is going on?  And Dina Meyer knows where everything in this kitchen is.  Everyone is looking at her funny.  She sees nothing wrong with it, until they start to test her.  They're paranoid of her.  They all think she's behind this.

Yet another thing NOT to do in a horror movie.  SPLIT UP!

Oh.  Ask ye shall recieve.  Traci Lords has been here before too.  She grabbed that blanket on command.  And now the brunette is all alone while preacher and Traci go off.  Dina Meyer and the "fuck" guy are on a search for a way out.

Pics of kids.  8 of them.  Brunette is off on her own.  In the bathroom.  Dark place as well.  Suspenseful moment when she opens the stall door.  She freaks and goes back to the place she was left. . . she's sucking her thumb and rocking.  Ah, she's on a bed.  *gets chill*  She lays down while sucking her thumb and is visited by a girl, who talks to her.  Oh, come on.  The kid tells her to "reach down and pull it out."  Skip to the others hearing her scream and they rush in.  Hmm.  Like her sculpture, her jaw's gone.

Everyone freaks and the "fuck" guy runs off.  The others stay together.  The girls sleep while the preacher reads some book left behind.  And the "fuck" guy starts to go insane.  He's threatening to burn the place down if he returns.

They are all in the place where brunette died.  Uh oh.  Dina's going crazy.  She spotted a butterfly necklace and starts throwing things around to find a butterfly on the wall.  Dum dum dum.  It's THEIR ROOM.  They lived there.  Preacher's dad was a doctor.  Dina Meyer's off looking for a mirror, while "fuck" guy is. . . lost.  He's now locked in a room.

Hmm.  Dina found her mirror and broke it.  Secret passage, again.  Hidden rooms with scary devices in it and fild cabinets.  Preacher found some papers.  Some sort of mental illnesses.  Ah, they weren't being studied.  They were being experimented on.  Karen is the 8th kid.  She's the ghostly killer?

"Fuck" guy is in some room with partial baseball field on the floor and the rest painted on the wall.  Creepy girl appears behind him.  He dies.  Dunno how, because you see the doors and hear him scream.

Tracy Lords is Gina.  Dina Meyer is Jennifer, while the preacher is Lyle.  They still live, as of now.  Gina runs off to vomit.  By herself.  Bad idea.  She's next, I bet.  Yep.  From the bathtub comes the girl.  She screams and the other two enter.  HER EYES ARE GONE!  She stepped on something and wanted to know what it was.  It was a hand.

Their dead friend is Brax, who remembered first and died first.  They're trying to figure all this out so they can live.  Lyle goes off on his own.  Brilliant.  They wanna destroy their past.  "No past.  No Karen."  Lyle is next.  He's saying a prayer.  Yep.  Leans in to get the slingshot Brent ("fuck" guy) dropped and someone grabs him.  He jumps up and gets a pipe in his neck.  Dum dum dum.  Dumbass.

Ah, Beth is the brunette with highlights.  Jennifer decides to go off to find more of their stuff.  Leave the blind girl with a stick.  Comedy?  Gina told Jennifer "don't use the bathroom."  Dark comedy.  Gina's next.  She's blind, helpless, and all alone.  She thinks someones is there.  I feel it coming. . . almost there.  Almost.  And she stabs Lyle in the stomach.  He's dead now.  How could she have known?

Maybe this is all some kind of psychological test?  It's not haunted.  There's no little girl ghost.  Is there?  Hmm.

Now we get to see the hideous face of the girl.  so maybe it is a ghost.  Gina got it.  A bony finger with a sharp finger nail to the ear.  Jennifer found Lyle and is crying over him.  She's all alone.  She has no clue about the tunnel Lyle mentioned to Gina.  Jennifer is burning the things she found.  And hearing noises.  "You're all going to die!"  But she's the only one left. . . She's going insane.  Ah, Jennifer knows she's the only thing left.  Time to die!  No one survives this.  She picks up a shard of a mirror and. . . black out to long ago.  And the end.

Not bad.  A few scary moments, and I don't spook easy with these films.  Though, I did decide to watch it in the dark.  "Will i be able to sleep at night?"  Please, I don't believe in ghosts.

after dark horrorfest, 8 films to die for, review, crazy eights
