(no subject)
Pulled up to the office today and spotted a Pileated woodpecker pecking on a down chinese tallow tree in the parking lot.
I tried to get a good pic of it, but failed.
When I got out, I walked towards the tree on which it was perching, and it didn't fly away. Instead it just hopped up higher in the tree and looked down on me.
I haven't seen a Pileated woodpecker since I spotted a pair of them hanging out high in one my pine trees at the house a couple years ago. To be honest, many times have I looked up in those trees hoping to see another.
So....
I'll take seeing the one at work today as a good omen. ;)

I skipped the company boil yesterday and skinned outta here about 15 minutes early and went to Home Depot to pick up another can of water seal. Glad I did that, cuz... at the end of the day, 2 whole cans was JUST enough for the deck. Well, I got home, poured me a brew, put on some music in the sunroom and opened a couple windows so I could hear the music and poured the water seal into the sprayer, pumped it up and started spraying.
There wasn't enough pressure the first time around, so I decided to pump it up some more and.....
Wouldn't you know it, the damn thing broke and wouldn't build up any pressure at all.
Naturally.
So I was pissed, of course. Hopped in the car and drove to Hell-mart to buy a new sprayer and went back home to continue working. Honestly, that took A LOT less time than I thought it would. Erm... going to Wal-mart and back. And... yeah.... spraying the deck too.
After that, I was feeling productive, so I took down one of my hummingbird feeders and took it inside. This thing is painted maroon and the fake flower petal feeders were like a clear maroon. I have NEVER seen a hummingbird feed on it, so I decided to paint the feeder part yellow. So I did.
I kinda hope it rains today and I kinda hope it doesn't. I really wanna detail the SHIT out of my wagon so it can be nice and pretty for my birthday cruise tomorrow. ={D>
