Daydream Giant

Daydream Giant

Bright green sunlit leaves
Thousands rolling in the breeze
Monster or giant, who knows
Maybe a flock of crows

Thud and a Stomp from Tokyo
Gojira Gojira! Maybe? No
Calm and still at last
The frightful imagination in the past

But what if it was a three headed giant
And you had to stand there all defiant
And say this giant had laser beams for eyes
In order to see him you’d have to look to the skies

Would you run, would you cower?
Recommend he take a shower?
Imagine if you will this giant as fat
Perhaps even carrying a baseball bat

How to topple such a foe
One you’ve never faced ever before
I highly doubt by calling the police
Would stop this monster and make peace

So what would you do, I ask you?
I sure know what I would do
I would bid that giant adieu
And maybe hide with some kangaroos

Or perhaps you’d grab a sling like David did with Goliath
You might have some better luck with a modern day rocket
And you had best fire that sucker fast
Otherwise the city the giant will harass

Perhaps it’s too bad
Or you should be a little glad
That you were just dreaming away
On a nice hot summer day
