Prologue
The crisis of Meteor has passed. The Planet has survived the second advent. And one year ago, the people of Gaia stood united in a grand act of redemption. Lives were lost, heroes were born, villains fell, and all that was left...was another chapter waiting to be revealed. Shinra Company has begun to rebuild, no longer a power-hungry empire with shadows to linger. The ruins of Midgar stand as a reminder of the Planet's fury, and the destruction left in Sephiroth's wake.
Midgar is amidst reconstruction, to correct the mistakes of corrupted memories to create a shining future. Humanity continues to strive, to find redemption and forgiveness for their sins. But a remnant of the past lingers on, eternally haunting and tainting the new world that Shinra wishes to co-exist aside. A shadow overlooked, underestimated, and forgotten to the world and discarded as fable...
Fantasy, however, has it's ways of proving itself nothing short of reality. There aren't many who can understand the cries of the Planet. There are those...hesitant or no, that will have no choice but to try.
"Sir... Why send him?"
The president folded his hands before him, leaning into his desk, his eyes trained and focused as he watched the man once summoned, leave.
"Because he's the only one...who can understand."

... ... ... ... Mm. [nods] Got it. [he hangs up, putting his phone away. he's surrounded by high rock formations on either side. it's as if he were walled in...like they would collapse in on him any second. but that was just a pessimist's thoughts. something that Cloud wasn't. he preferred to think he was realistic. this was suspicious as is, but the price was good. and if he was the only one who could do this? the target must have been dangerous]
...
[an hour passes, and Cloud finally takes a breather of climbing. surprisingly, no monsters were spotted yet. with a sigh, he sits down on a boulder, checking his surroundings. what was he hoping to find here? he didn't even have a bad feeling about this... he checks his phone, but finds that where he is, there's no reception. so much for calling Tifa...]
Hm.
