as we grow up and get wiser we also get more stupid in so many respects. as people expose themselves to new situations, usually only to the eye, they put themselves in the same predicaments they once complained of. new scenery. nothing's changed.
the best check against it has to be friends, and they don't even have to be good friends. every once in a while most people need someone to slap some sense back into them, bring them back to reality, and show them things in a new light. its so suprising that just about everyone advocates the use of peer editing for papers because they know it will make it better. they know someone else can catch things that they would pass over as nothing out of the ordinary in their eyes. yet no one applies this to other things.
to all of you out there sad, lonely, depressed, but even more to those exciting, happy, and enthralled by life, talk to other people. we have them for a reason. we establish checks and balances for gov't, business, aggression, but never ourselves. we all know we've got a retarded side within us.
