Random memory from Europe
When I was in the youth hostels this summer I paid a fair amount of attention to the dynamic of how travelers met and became friends.
This is what I noticed:
Guys would only approach girls. Then there'd be a few unacquainted guys at a table with a few girls. making conversation. Eventually the guys would end up talking to one another. This is just the way things worked. This system actually worked quite well.
I miss Europe. I suppose this is somewhat ironic, since much of the time I was there I felt ready to come home.
I think I miss Frankfurt, Zaragoza, and Lyon the most. Those cities were the coolest.
