98% of all bathtub accidents occur in the bathroom

This is not a proper update. I'll get to that someday soon. I hope.

Mike shot a 590/600 with 30 Xs in league last evening. 12 of 20 possible perfect 30s. His best score ever!

For 600 possible points, we shoot four games of 150. Each game is five 30 point ends of three arrows each. I talked myself right out of a perfect 150 game - twice. I had 146 in each of the first two games. Then I ran four 30s in the third game. On the last end, I dropped a point on the first arrow, just a little left. Held just a little too long, should have let down and started over. Third game:149. On the fourth game, I did exactly the same thing, except this time I had a 9 on my second arrow in the last end. Sight pin dropped and my eye went right to the pin as it fell just under the ten ring. And my arrow went precisely where I was looking. Fourth game: 149.

I missed both perfect games because of a momentary lapse of concentration. I'm far too pleased with my score to be bummed about the 149s. I'm looking at the 149s in a positive light - they are lessons to be learned. And I shall. Am determined. For positive reinforcement, the target is in my bedroom, with date and score marked.

Oh, and in somewhat related news, I got a new (for me. it's used) bow! It is a 2005 Protec, same as my blue bow, but it has shorter limbs, which makes it faster. Flame color. I'm setting it up for 3D, where speed is important. I haven't clocked it yet, but I'd be shocked if it is much less than 300fps. Phast. I just need to get in shape to pull the 62 lbs! Owch!

And now enough of this improper update.

ETA: Crap! I forgot to mention I ran my first club meeting last Wednesday. Tom ran most of the January meeting because he had to finish old business before handing things over to me, so February is my first official meeting. Wouldn't you know it, we had an unusually large crowd there. I didn't do so bad, if I don't say so myself. Must admit I was pretty nervous, though. I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but it sure felt like everyone should have been able to tell. The whole thing is so out of character for me. I'm usually the mute who sits in the corner at gatherings like this. I guess it's a good thing to force myself to sit up front for once.
