Blind Bale Chronicles - Day 3 (and other random thoughts)

5/2/05 - This is getting pretty repetitive. Heh. I do need to focus more on keeping back tension and getting my grip on the release right. I found myself kind of just going through the motions and pounding out arrows instead of concentrating on getting each step of the shot sequence correct. This whole exercise won't do any good if I don't make sure each shot is proper. H shot with me again last night. She watched some of my shots and pointed a few things out, which was very helpful. I keep meaning to set up the video camera so I can see for myself what I need to work on, but that never seems to happen. I should probably do it soon though. Practicing bad habits isn't a good idea either. Another 120 arrows are in the history books.

On a side note, there is a map of the club grounds on the wall in the clubhouse. I suspect it is from maybe the sixties, as much has changed. My guess is semi-educated because Wally recently hung photos of the grounds and shoots from 1955, when they purchased the property. There were no trees! It is difficult to imagine the three-foot diameter oaks I see there today as saplings! Anyway, I brought a sheet of Vellum (drafting paper) from work, which we taped over the map for tracing. The original drawing is somewhat to scale, so I should be able to transfer it to Autocad and have an electronic version for the website. Yeah, I volunteered myself to do a web page for the club. I've never done one before, so this should be interesting.

Total arrows shot to date: 360 (20520 lbs.)
