One question above all others is going through my mind right now:
Why does everyone NEED to get that Harry Potter book the first second it's available, and the ones who don't start to go nuts? How could you all be so excited about a book? It's gonna be there in every bookstore you pass by, it's gonna be in everyone's hands for the next three months, and it's going to be good like the rest of the Harry Potter books. I love the Harry Potter series, and I hope Rowling goes on with Harry's story after he leaves Hogwarts (unless she does something overly dramatic like kills him off). But I'm not going to a bookstore at 8 o'clock for a "party" (First time they have an actual party in a bookstore, it'll be when Mickey Mouse comes to life for the sole purpose of assassinating Bugs Bunny), then four hours later leave with a book that I could have just as easily got the next morning, or the next week, or the next month. Listen, people know me as a pretty enthusiastic guy, and I am. But seriously you guys, you're wasting time and energy that could be used to have tons of fun. Going to a book release party at a bookstore... the last word of that act just takes all the fun out of it. Go out, see a movie, go to a friend's house, go shopping, get laid, smoke some pot, whatever. At least do something more ideal than spending four hours today on what you could do in 20 minutes max tomorrow.
Sorry if I seem mean to anybody. I really am. I'm just getting stuff off my chest. Anyway, I have to go to sleep, 'cause it's 3:15 over here and I have to get up at 7 to go fishing. Fun fun.
