Today I got a new nephew. Yup. Payton Williams, son of Amy (Sally's oldest daughter) and Jeff. Whupee! We went to the hostpital at like six and saw him, and he's just the coolest little thing ever! I got to hold him, and started stroking his brow, and he fell asleep in my arms. God, babies are so cute. Just the big eyes and the little noses and those tiny tiny little hands... wow. He's got dark-blue eyes like mine, though not identical. Everyone always tells me I have cool eyes, though I fail to see the coolness but I guess that's not a problem. When Payton was born this morning by C section (if that's the wrong term forgive me, I'm only human), he weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces. I guessed he would come out at 9 pounds 1 ounce, 'cause jeez, you should've seen Amy! She was a whale with him inside her. It was also a nice guessing game for the gender, everyone knew whether they wanted it to be a boy or a girl. I said boy, though either one's great, but a boy would be easier on his hyper 2-year-old bro, Jaden. Brothers get along better than a brother and a little sister. I talked to Jeff in the cafeteria, and said to him, "Bud, get yerself some Exedrin, fast." Yup, the months ahead are gonna mean a lot of ups in the middle of the night with a screaming baby with a stinking daiper and a need for a boob to suck on (sorry for the insensitivity, but it's true). Hope he grows up strong, healthy and handsome, like his brother seems to be doing quite nicely.
